I’m just not a fan of destro, but warlock aren’t great already in mythic so I don’t want to shoot myself in the foot.
Demo is good for m+ yeah, happy implosioning friend
I main Demo and run 10s and 11s so problem. Demo has a slow start but once you got your core procs flowing Demo does well in keys.
Yea but we’re not bad.
Even while destro AoE sucks, cleave and ST damage gets the job done.
All 3 specs are doing fine in keys, destro and affliction do much better in higher keys(like 12+) when things survive for longer or the pulls are massive. Destro shines in the big pulls and affliction shines in the long pulls.
I play demo for 10s, I don’t care to push higher. My overall is lower than some classes (ret pally specifically) but I still don’t consider my damage bad.
Definitely but I just don’t see it happen often… on purpose
Do you mind sharing your rotation? I made a warlock bc I look at the weekly DPS charts and warlocks are usually at the top.
Where are you looking that warlocks are usually at the top? On Warcraftlogs they are typically in bottom half, and looking at mythic 10 and above they are in the bottom 10 specs. If you are looking at raid then Destro is decent.
Warlocks are just “okay”… mid performers at best.
I wouldn’t put much stock in mythic logs. That’s like the top one percent of players. At the casual to heroic level you can pretty much play what you want and be close enough not to matter. M+ you wont really see a meaningful impact compared to logs until high keys.
Ah ok, thank you that’s good to know
I wouldn’t say Demo is on top of the charts, but outside of pushing keys beyond 12 I think Demo is good.
And to answer your actual question:
- Demo is all about ramping into Tyrant every minute. You want to build up as many demons as you can for your Tyrant to empower / extend
- Tyrant ramps are identical in keys and raid. Get your dreadstalkers, Hound of Sargaras, 2nd Felguard (if its up), and as many imps as you can out before you summon your Tyrant.
To keep it simple, your ramp rotation would look something like this:
- Power Siphon (if you have less than 2 core procs already)
- Build to 5 shards
- G:FG
- Vile Fiend / Hound of Sargaras
- Call dreadstalkers
- Demon bolt
- Hand
- Demon bolt
- Shadow bolt
- Hand
- Tyrant
Or something to that effect, depending on how many core procs you have. In keys you also have to think about Implosion. When you summon your tyrant all your imps’ durations get frozen. Don’t implode until your Tyrant expires.
Huh didn’t blizz put a cap on imp empowerment
You don’t really need to go crazy before summoning tyrant anymore
It caps at like 15 imps now I think right
Yeah can someone confirm this, don’t think this is the case anymore
Edit: yup caps at 20 if talented
I was simplifying it, but yes there is a 20 imp cap. The core message stays the same tho
