Is Dawnbreaker not available for Follower dungeons or am I missing an unlock?

I’m trying to do the Meta Worldsoul: The Dawnbreaker quest at 79, but the Dungeons & Raids interface says I cannot queue for it under Follower dungeons, though it IS available under Specific Dungeons for Normal difficulty.

Does anyone know why? Can Dawnbreaker not be completed with Followers? Or am I missing a quest unlock? (I have completed the MSQ available for under level 80 characters.)

I just did it with followers a few minutes ago by talking to the NPC outside the dungeon entrtance.

Be warned though, that unless you are a tank you won’t survive the last boss. It took less than ten seconds after the last fight started for ALL my followers to die.

Also be warned that apart from a handful of gold, you won’t get any rewards. I got a little over ten gold and NOTHING else.

Last boss took me about ten minutes to kill since I spent so much time healing myself.

Ah, I’ve given up on Follower Dungeons; I did Dawnbreaker for the first time yesterday…on Heroic.

Meanwhile, the Follower Dungeons seem poorly tuned, IMO. I did a few of them (City of Threads, City of Echoes) to get an idea on how the dungeon and the boss fights play out, but the stupid NPC DPS are so strong that the bosses died before I could experience half of their mechanics. As such, the whole, “Follower Dungeons help you learn” is effectively moot.

Also, I found Follower Dungeons to be strangely chaotic. Something with the way the NPCs run around, or something…something definitely feels off with them.

So, yeah, I’m just going to stick to doing dungeons in groups.

I have to agree. I love follower dungeons and still run them all the time, but they are super dumbed down. Especially if you’re running as a healer. After trash fights, before you can do anything, the paladin tank will frequently heal itself and the group, and the dps shaman will throw heals around during the fights. It’s been a while, but I think I’ve completed a few of the easier ones with my disc priest in which I didn’t use a single heal.

When I’m running them while leveling up as a tank, I’ll frequently have aggro issues, especially at the beginning of the pull. It’s probably partially due to the fact that I’m under-geared, but also that the mage and hunter do so much dps. In particular, they lay down AoE damage. insanely fast. While the survivability is way too easy, the aggro control is a little too hard.

I’d like to see something added to follower dungeons like the delves have. Maybe you can choose a tier level, or change the class composition of your group. With how easy they feel right now, and the low xp and loot drop rate, it certainly feels like we’re locked into tier 1.

Ironically, I had the counter experience in Heroic Grim Batol.

I queued as DPS / Healer and got selected for DPS, but during the Drahga Shadowburner fight, I think I used my Ardent Defender and Blessing of Sacrifice twice, and quite a number of Holy Power on Eternal Flame (the Word of Glory replacement) to try to keep the party alive, as the healer seemed to be struggling.

It was pretty fun to be so super useful, but that poor Resto Druid…

I’m not sure they’ll do this. The purpose of Follower Dungeons at this point seems to be “story mode / quest completion”, and any challenging content for solo players will probably be directed at Delves. (Imagine how much more interesting Delves would be if, instead of a customizable Brann, you recruited followers, a la the Mission Table… :astonished:)

The Dawnbreaker is practically undoable for me on Follower mode. The escort leader has no idea how to do this dungeon. Shouts out random chaotic instructions like “go fly to that house” but no indication of where said house is (either from the follow leader or the map). The followers will stand around looking at you for 30 minutes if you let them, doing nothing.

In follower dungeon you have a button to choose the bots to follow your lead or to lead you. By default it will follow your lead, so it you sit there for an enternity, as so they will.
