Is 'cleansing the mother tree' simply impossible?

disclaimer to start with. my druid is not a healer. but tbh, based on what i am seeing, i genuinely dont think it would make a difference.

supposedly i am supposed to protect lyessa and her allies to complete the scenario. but as soon as the fight start the boss does an aoe that kills the non tank npcs, and the tank dies to the next hit. if i heal him up to full he still dies in one or two hits. and as soon as those npcs are down the event ends despite lyessa being at full life. i’ve tried this event numerous times at different levels. started at the mid 20s, and most recently at 63. every time the same outcome. if i try to just fight/tank the boss myself i either get killed in about 4-5 hits despite cds and healing… or the other npcs (except lyessa) die to aoe regardless ending the scenario.

is there something i am overlooking, or is this scenario simply scuffed by that most brilliant of mechanics blizzard ever added; scaling?

you aren’t overlooking anything, blizzard haven’t fixed the scaling in class hall quests despite all the bug reports. As a result, many of the legion artifact quests are completely broken stat-wise. Some of these quest enemies hit so hard it can’t possibly be intentional design. The only way I was able to win was by switching to guardian and tanking the boss myself. They’ve made the quest for healers nearly impossible for said healers by ignoring it for so long.

I had a similar problem on my Rogue. Blizzard has completely forgotten the class hall quests and some of them been completely broken for well over 2 years now.

Lots of Legion content is busted because of borked scaling and I’m starting to think we will NEVER get a fix for the solo stuff.
