Blizz could have all the devs working on Shadowlands instead of splitting them for Classic. Does anyone even still play Classic anymore?
Classic doesn’t really need “developers.” All of the content is already developed. I’d imagine all they need is a team to manage the implementation and monitor the game.
I highly doubt Classic is pulling anything away from Shadowland’s development.
Doesn’t seem that way. Most server on classic are dead already. Or just see people logging for raiding. Most active pvp guilds seems to be trading HK to open more slots to ranking up due to lack of participation.
I feel like more of the work on new xpacs is on the game design and art side. Neither of which are terribly relevant for classic. So, I doubt it’s stealing too many devs that could be working on retail instead.
My response is not indicative of the general population.
Half my time is on Classic. While that has killed my progress on Retail, I’m still enjoying it.
Where are all of the “Classic will kill WoW” people nowadays anyway?
Ummm, they haven’t “split” the Devs.
Classic barely has anyone working on it at all, because it doesn’t require much. They aren’t adding anything to it, so it doesn’t need many people to keep it going.
classic doesn’t have developers.
There is no new content to develop
They are posting complaints about PvP on the classic forum.
Classic has more people on it than retail. Current WoW is at it’s lowest point in history.
I’m really proud of Classic’s success, but it was never intended to be WoW’s future as much as it was a lesson for both developers and players as to what made WoW so beloved in the first place. A quick glance at the SL upcoming changes is a nod towards these lessons.

Queue times still on classic. Is that not enough proof for you?
Well someones on it because they are trying to figure how to implement bc
It has been stated several times they are separate teams.
Classic is still struggling with queue times on some realms, so its demand is still high, but I doubt it needs that many devs working on it. Most likely it just needs a few to ensure authenticity to the original classic WoW
Classic didn’t use the retail team in anyway.
I see more people in classic than retail at the moment.
Blizz could have all the devs work on Classic+ instead of splitting with Shadowlands. Does anyone even still play BFA anymore?
/looks at the 8.3 assaults
I hope none of those lessons were about how much fun it is to have single-tap, slow spawning objectives that make you hate every other player in the zone.
