Is classic actually classic?

This was the most complete database of values blizzard has though.

They would have to guess, apparently, at the values for a patch 1.08 WoW.

Which is sad since like… that’s what most people experienced leveling in Vanilla.

Everyone that played vanilla knew 1.12 dungeons were easy. This is a surprise only to people not paying attention.

Omg no they were not easy!

You had to use cc & healers would oom in long fights. If you pulled 4 bfd mobs & their group opted to aoe them down instead of cc to survive… That’s a pretty good indicator that the game doesn’t require you to think. You just win… Bc that pull in classic is 100% death without cc

I played it. Yes they were. It was a catchup patch for tbc launch. Some dungeons mobs were nerfed by like 50% damage wise. Go look at patch notes.

Class revamps and dungeon elite damage nerfs made it so that 1.12 dungeons were easy.

If you leveled up before patch 1.10, THEN it was hard.

Okay so we agree… The 1.12 patch makes classic easy & blizzard is making us play easy version of classic… So everyone will be bored

I will be less bored playing 1.12 than retail. /shrug

Yes, it is sad… but it’s also better than retail and hopefully blizzard makes classic+ content on new servers.

Glad others can confirm, I got this sense merely from leveling to about five or six. I don’t know about anyone else but I never even had to eat food or wait between mobs when fighting in Durotan (orc start area).

Enemies definitely hit significantly harder in real classic, although I’ve no idea if it’s down to the 1.12 patch.

At least we won’t have the abomination of retail talent “trees” and pruned classes. Baseline abilities being made into PvP talents.

its really clear you’ve never been part of a BETA. the devs are fixing and balancing, so thing can be off. sometimes they will even stat boost you and ask you to try out contents. BETA videos don’t mean crap. wait and see

Or… They want retail babies to not die & stop playing… They’re choosing to make it easy… All they have to do is buff damage but how it is now everything is very easy not challenging… No one will have fun it will feel like retail

It slows down around level 10. The regen, i mean.

I considered that. I remembered I recently tried a character in the undead starting zone recorded some videos and put them on my YouTube channel. It clearly shows incredibly fast Mana regeneration rates for the beginner levels.

However regeneration rates aren’t relevant here. I’m talking about the Damage Done to the player. For example do you remember going into the spider cave in the undead area or the vile familiar cave in the orc area?

I definitely distinctly recall sometimes being required to eat and drink after just a few mobs. Depending on class of course.

I mean… they weren’t even going to attempt to make classic until they found that database of mob hp/armor/resist/damage/env values etc.

There were issues when they ported it to the new env, but it’s “true” to 1.12, I believe.

Think about it this way, they either were going to do 1.12 or not do it at all.

So to be completely honest… this game came out what 15years ago? When most people were terrible at the game and hunters were “huntards” (most still are)… With the average player having more knowledge and experience now, I would expect to see more successful players & groups then before… I didn’t start playing till the end of BC but I loved the BC/WOTLK era the most.

Why can private servers give a better classic experience than blizzard? No… They’re choosing to make it easy so they can get us much $$$ out of us as possible… make it easy so anyone can play
