It looks really, really cool. My problem is that unless there’s a tunic version of it, my character just wouldn’t look good in it. If it’s robe only, this would seemingly cut off some sales that Blizz would otherwise have.
It is robe only unfortunately.
Can you transmog the chest to something else
I dont have it so I havent tested myself
Let me help you make a grounded decision:
Store transmogs randomly disappear and have done so for years. Blizzard has not fixed it. Instead, Blizzard continues putting more mogs on the store, knowing there’s an issue that renders the mogs inaccessible to players at random. In addition, you have to spend gold to re-transmog the items when they do reappear (before disappearing again).
Yes you can
It’s a full armor set with each piece being separately mogable.
In case it matters to anyone, the sparkles are on the cape, so if you just wanted it for that, you can replace other pieces at will.
Annnd that’s why I’m currently naked.
Yea it’s robe only, the cool sparkle effect is part of the cape, and the glove, legs and feet models are basically non existent.
What a foolish decision it is to release it as robe only. I’m completely uninterested in it if it’s robe only. Why does Blizz not want my money?
I picked it up, but I wish it came with a shirt version as well. The pants look cool, so I used them on another character. The gloves, shoes, and bracers are throw away, though. Looks like they were designed to be covered up. The belt is great. Overall, hard to mix it with other parts, and the fact that the chest piece doesn’t have a shirt version hurts.

You can, but you lose the ground lighting effect.
The chestplate and forearms on the robe glow and create the light effects beneath you. The cloak renders embers that leave trails as they orbit around you while standing, or behind you while moving (including when mounted). The shoulders and head glow and emanate a subtle, cosmic/Elegon-style effect; the shoulders additionally have a slight fizzing particle effect. The page edges of the book on waist have an undulating glow effect. The hands, legs, and feet have no effects. Teal color on the feet and lower robe) seems luminous in light, but that’s lost without direct light.
dont worry there will be plenty of store skins to come
they kinda botched this one by putting the best effects on the cloak anyway
At least since it’s the cloak, folks can use it with other sets as long as they have cloaks turned on. I’ve seen that a few times already in the game. Would have been nice if the gloves and boots/shoes did something as well.

Then get creative and use another way to mimic a tunic
Or don’t spend $20
Should have put them all on the shoulders TBH
