Is Cata classic dead?

MoP was my favorite expansion so I want to replay the game when it releases but I’m on Benediction, for some reason the other realms are “Locked”. Literally no one is playing on my server, is it dead? Help much appreciated.

I started on Mankrik horde a few days ago, its pretty busy, managed to LFD all the way to 80. I’m also here just to play MoP lol.

Make sure you are playing the right faction as servers are very one sided, Benediction is alliance, Faerlina is horde. Also the locked servers are just waiting to be merged away, the high servers are where players actually are.

it’s kinda amusing the bene server died , where are all the streamers and hardcore guilds gone ? beeeh

I’ve been playing on the anniversary realms so I don’t know how much fluctuation there is, but last week when I logged into Grubb and checked the AH, the total # of auctions were down 65-70% from what they were before the fresh realms launched.

Take it for what it is, but going by Ironforge data…Cata has more players than Era, SoD and Fresh combined.

Obviously raid data isn’t a great measure, especially since a lot of Fresh players are still questing. But…that’s all we have.

It’s not dead. Just choose your server and faction wisely.

No. Cata has double the amount of active raiders as SoD and 6 times the amount of Anniversary Classic. It’s the most active of all of the Classic versions.

It’s also the oldest Classic version with more people raiding on multiple alts for GDKPs/gold selling.

Yeah, Horde’s side on benediction is dead…it’s an Alliance megaserver. Google “wow cata server stats” and choose accordingly from there.

Oldest classic version is actually Era with 1/12th the amount of raiders. So…

The Cata servers are just as old. They were cloned copies when the game split into Era and TBC.
