I’ve been checking the BMAH every day and haven’t seen the Bruto mount. Is it supposed to be available starting now or should I wait and check after shadowlands drops?
In fact, I’m not really seeing any mounts, just weird stuff like battered hilt and enchant appearances with the occasional pet or piece of armor.

Everyone said all mounts started at 20,000. If I knew it was going to start at 5 Mil I would just have bought it. It would be nice if they gave us a little more information to work with so we could plan.
Everyone knew and there was even a post stating it was going to start at 5 mil. Why start it at 20k just to screw people who bought it for 5 mil?

Anyone saying it was starting at 20k was just speculating. There’s very little reason to think that a 5mil gold mount would actually start at 20k. And even if it did, banking on getting it at that price was a bad call. Like any decently rare thing on the BMAH, it is going to go for gold cap. A lot of the rarer things only come up a couple of times per year, and it’s just a race to whoever can bid gold cap the fastest.
Obviously I did not expect to get it at 20k. But has anything else ever started that high? I would have been happy with 4.75M tbh.

Right, but even if it started at that price it is highly unlikely that you would ever get it for anywhere near that. It’s mostly likely going to come up a few times per year, and it is highly, highly, highly unlikely to ever sell for less than gold cap. If you had the 5 million gold and planned on getting it, but decided to hold out for a deal then you made a bad call.
Every mount on the BMAH starts at 20k. It does not make someone an idiot to think this mount would be no different. Just makes them wrong.
I might pay a little more than 5M but no way I’m spending gold cap for it. I don’t have that much time to grind gold, especially with all the gold nerfs they’re putting in the game. It should not have been so expensive to begin with.
I got news for you. The whole idea of a 5M gold mount that disappears into the black market nether was realllly bad business practice.
once you get yourself a mil or 2 gold, making money on AH really isnt too bad. getting the startup funds to begin making more is the hardest part and knowing your market

Yeah, but what I’m saying is that once something is only obtainable via the BMAH the price is in the hands of other people. So it doesn’t matter if you wouldn’t pay gold cap for it. What matters is that somebody will pay gold cap for it. It will go to the highest bidder, you can’t just buy it for the starting price. So by making the choice to hold on to your 5 million gold in hopes of getting a deal on the BMAH, you put your ability to get this mount in the hands of other people, regardless of what Blizzard set the starting price at. It honestly doesn’t matter whether they set it at 5 gold or 5 million gold, because it’s now a very rare mount, and will go to the first person to max out the bid.
You would be surprised I got into arguments about this. I told them it will and they said no it won’t. I’m dropping my mic in a “I told ya so” way right now. lol
