I just came back to the game and tried a timewalking dungeon. Trash mobs did me in. Was DK recently nerfed ultra hard in PVE?
Nope, it’s fine. Just have to be mindful of scaling with Timewalking.
Give me tips?
I mean, there isn’t anything devastating to change with your gear set up. There are always some better choices that can be made to get more out of everything, but nothing that you have currently should cause you to just get rolled by trash packs. That will have more to do with how you’re approaching your pulls per dungeon.
Alot of people underestimate the dangers in timewalking but due to scaling your gear down you are under alot more threat. Try smaller pulls and making sure to save resources where possible. If you’re fine on some initial packs but die on subsequent ones it could be that you’re mismanaging cooldowns or your group is making mistakes on interrupts of dangerous abilities.
Another thing could be that you’re being too greedy and holding your cooldowns just for bosses. Minor ones can be used frequently (say dancing rune weapon for a mostly melee pack, then vamp blood on the next). When i tank as blood i often forgo bonestorm for vamp blood just to have it up more frequently to help smooth recovery so my healer can focus on party members easier. No need to necessarily hoard all cooldowns only for emergencies. Saving one specifically for an emergency is fine, rotate the others in to smooth pulls and it should be fine.
While leveling my other toons, whenever I got a Blood Dk tank in timewalking they always went splat. It never failed. Wipe on trash and then the group just breaks up to the point where I would just leave if it was a blood dk.
My DK is tanking like a boss this TW week.
When I play my healer, it’s the Warriors that give me trouble.
End time trash is brutal. The undead packs in ruby shrine are especially nasty. Thay dungeon was far worse than the others for me.
That’s exactly where I got wrecked! Went in as a DPS hours later, and a paladin tank just waded in without any of us and was fine. I was so mad.
That’s mostly the DPS being dumb, the undead packs should be single targeted not spam AoE’d. There’s a ramping debuff involved that really sucks with timewalking scaling.
Don’t feel bad, everyone gets crushed on that pull.
Get Skullflower’s Haemostasis from Legion. If/when Legion timewalking is added it will work for that expansion as well. 20% dmg and healing for each blood boil is no joke. Makes timewalking a breeze. I like using it with Archimonde’s Hatred Reborn if my healer needs more help or Sephuz’s Secret for DPS. If you skipped legion and can only equip 1 Legendary get Skullflower’s Haemostasis.
I grabbed it. I’ll give it a go. Thanks!
Dude! Its not you. Had same issue with Timewalking on BDK.
Something with BDK in Timewalking is broke, and not tuned right.
Its never been as bad as it is right now.
12% haste will not translate into timewalking well at all. You’re probably constantly RP/Rune starved? Get more haste and you’ll notice a difference. I use sphere of suppression on my neck for world content/pvp for the haste/speed buff but it works well in timewalking as well for a haste buff.
You should also look into getting Skullflowers(turns deathstrike into a beast for heals, I can sometimes cast 1 for 50% of my HP) and redo your azerite traits. Just looking at your chest for example which has impassive visage but instead you have the AMS trait. Most class azerite traits are trash for Blood DKs. The armor bonus you get from 2 marrowbloods is negligible and it doesn’t to anything to increase the chance of an extra bone shield charge proc. On your chest apothecary’s concoctions is a much better choice.
Time walking isn’t overturned, the people saying that didn’t play Cata dungeons at launch, it’s how they should be. The main tip is don’t blow runic power, get you a deathstrike weak aura that shows how much it will heal you for. Watch your incoming damage and then press deathstrike and heal to full. Blood dk hp is never stable, you just have to be able to bounce back after a heavy hit. Also ams is your friend, while it absorbs damage it also gives runic power which = more deathstrikes, don’t be afraid to use your cds either, there should always be a defensive on cooldown
