Is Blizzard still working on account wide everything?

So account-wide, so far (as of Oct 21, 2024) has been a breath of fresh air to say the least. But Blizzard did say “Everything”.

… a little background.

I am a simple person so forgive this question if it is really obvious. ( a few really and I am asking because I thought something different when they gave us what we now have, which is great.) I like running older content and most importantly I do not chase gear as a rule. If like something I will repeat it over and over because I really like it. and most of all I like one shoting enemies with my Holy Priest. (yep the simple pleasures)

Which brings me back to my quest:

Will account-wide everything work it’s was back to all the old expansions in retail ?

(over the years I have mained both Horde and Alli characters and some toons I do not play anymore have older achievements unlocked, but a lot more back then it was not acc-wide)

Will it ever be all the way back to vanilla???

Will it truly be “account-wide everything”?

every step of account wide everything is a step that will finally push me out

nope. They worked on that for a while they’re doing other stuff now. like class balance.

they are working on the old rep but not the ones that need a special achievement for them
from the last info i saw

i hope they add account wide water fishing pole rep. grinding this rep sucks on 1 character muchless grinding the rep for 20 characters… they should just allow us to repeat dailies over and over the same day!

Really the only thing I would like beyond what we already have is making ALL reps account wide rather than just the ones we have now.

I’m the opposite. That’s what would bring my interest back. Maybe. I still want player housing to feel like WoW could be a game I could give my undivided attention to again.

I understand people think of their characters as individuals but I feel every thing done on my account is done by one individual, me, and I don’t see the point in doing it twice.

Mostly. I don’t think if I have one 80 then every character I create should be 80 but when it comes to achievements, pets, mounts, reputations (stuff found in a book or menu, pretty much) then I don’t want to do it twice.

For me, its because I still believe in character progression games.

Account progression games means its implied you are expected to play alts. I dont do alts.

If it is expected one plays alts, then there is less pressure to balance classes. More expectation everyone has a meta class to switch to. FOTM becomes the norm.

So I am just whatever. I accept people want it. I just also accept it will eventually make me quit.

I agree. I do think the same way. I am the one playing the game. The game does not play me!

That’s it, right there.

Nail head.

That’s fair and a valid concern. I think it’s pretty much what SWTOR does. They let you pick two classes for one character and I might be wrong but it seems like since they do this, they don’t care if a spec is OP.

Like having stealth is such a huge advantage that they never compensate for because everyone can have it by picking one of four specs.

However, that game is tiny with a tiny budget and a tiny team. I would hope something as big as Blizzard could figure things out a bit better.

Mostly for me it’s the Wardens/Tortollans just cause while you can ordinarily just get an alt up with most other reps, I have found that zoneless reps like the Seekers actually compounds the trauma cause you can’t even get them to exalted quickly, so it’s actually a slog to get to exalted and then ANOTHER slog for paragon which is drought levels of less rep than any other expansion comparative faction like the Proudmoores or Champions of Azeroth…

Which I can’t understand being on the extra emissary bar… they have entire campaigns and zones worth of rep, did we really need another major source for them compared to say… the faction that barely even has one zone worth of actual quests and exponentially fewer WQs per zone to boot?

lol. That’s the worst take I’ve heard. Why would it push you out?

I was always in favor of char specific stuff and that not only about achievements, but mounts or pets as well. I always felt that my char has earned it and not the others in the list.

That being said, if you have less time like I do and you are confronted with drop rates that are anything but healthy, then you reconsider your stand.

I just don´t want to grind months for a profession pattern that I already unlocked on another toon by grinding reputation.

I just don´t want to run a dungeon again and again, while the transmog I seek always drops for the char that can not unlock it.

And yes, I would like to see my achievements and game progress shared with all my chars, as I quest with them in different zones, since we out level an expansion so quickly, that I can´t even finish them on a single toon.

Knowing that I can finish all the Vanilla zones on my account, rather than on one char, makes my game easier.

In my opinion, they should not stop with account wide progression, but also make the AH account wide. Transmogs don´t sell at all on my realm, I would like a bigger market for my stuff.

Not having any sales is always worse than having some but for a lower price.

I fully understand your view, I was there too. But as time moves on and you become older, any help to still have fun with a very time consuming game, is appreciated.

Seems to be the case. They are adding all quests completed on all toons in roughly a week.

I doubt all old reps will carry over ( im not sure how you merge goblins and bloodsails for example)

They plan to work backwards, combining reps, making more currencies tradable, etc. but there’s not a timetable available that I’ve seen.

I appreciate the response that had nothing to do with anything I said.

As a person who most likely now qualifies as “getting older”, I am aware of what makes me able to still have fun.

I guess it ultimately comes down to personal values, tastes and the extent of what you can still manage to enjoy within the world that’s established before you. :person_shrugging:

Naturally I personally think there should be limitations — That being said however, I also believe some things should be freed up more … Overall though? I understand there are those who would either disagree, agree and even have bit of mixture with such views.

I am fine with some things being loosened up. But this was about “account wide everything”. Which is what drew my response.

If it becomes something that works against me because I do not play an alt, then I am ok with moving on. Thats just a personal value for me.

I am not saying others are wrong for wanting it. I am not trying to change anyone else’s mind.
