Hey Karen how many threads you gonna make? You’re spare parts bud
Hello Blizzard. I’m the person who gave you thousands of dollars and that will never own a smartphone because I DONT NEED A SMARTPHONE. People here are toxic and say: who doesnt own a smartphone now…guess what, ME. I have my old authentificator and its still kicking. If you cant treat me and other paying clients respectfully then why should we continue to be loyal, play your games and mostly throw our money at you? ATM im REALLY thinking of quitting and never come back. Im sick and tired of companies bossing around and telling me what to do for the simplest thing like this. You want my business? Remove that non-sense. I have an authentificator and it should be enough. If you dont change that then I will quit business with you for good and throw my money somewhere else. I dont care what kids and toxic trolls here say. Its my final warning. ty
Seriously people - if you’re afraid of putting the authenticator on your phone just hop on ebay or craigslist and get yourself a old $10 android tablet and load it on that. Boom, you now have a dedicated authenticator.
Have you noticed that the Approve/Disapprove buttons are reversed in color, from the website to the app?
Interesting…especially seeing as how the first true smartphone didn’t hit the market until 2007. I mean I guess you could call a blackberry a smartphone, but I don’t think that term was commonly used in 2004
Think iPhones were the first smart phones? Yeah, remember the Blackberry Smartphones back in 2000?
That’s what I was thinking…and iPhones first appeared on the scene in late 2007
But even with iPhones, people called them an iPhone, even when they were first released. But the Blackberries were also considered “Smart Phones” back when they were first released due to there “unique” design over every other phone. And where phones are now mostly considered of touch screens and stuff, they are more of just a common mobile phone than a smart phone, all competing each other over smarter technology and better hardware.
lol no they didn’t. have you forgotten about talk radio already?
I would like to buy a physical Authenticator for WoW. Not sure why they stopped selling them.
Semantics? Really? They are ‘smartphones’.
Shaming? hmmm.
You can HAVE a phone without it being a ‘smartphone’. They exist.
Or, you know, a desktop program.
to you… it is a non issue. Wow… what happened to ‘equality’?
I thought they were just phones… They’re so common, they are more now mostly known as Cell Phones or Mobile Phones, depending on which side of the Pond you’re from.
So I am getting you don’t like the ‘term’ Smartphones? Must get away and distance the term ‘smart’ yah I get it. Why so defensive?
Older people are thrown aside because they come from a different world in so few years. A ‘phone’ is a whole different term 40 years ago from today. If you were there, you know, but if not you don’t know. We are in 1984… some might get that… some may not. No judgement , just an observation.
That is not what I am saying. Phones that can access the internet, have a camera, install apps, have a touch screen, play games, etc., are really as common as anything, most people just look at them as “phones” instead of “smartphones”.
Anything accessing the ‘internet’ is technically ‘smart’ according to all research I have seen. You call it a ‘phone’… it is still a smartphone because it accesses internet/wifi. You can’t call a landline a ‘smartphone’. That was a phone forever before.
Regardless… I don’t want one, don’t have one. But now I can’t even make a ‘LFG/R’ group? after all these years when I did buy an authenticator long ago.
Do we call computers “smart computers” because they have access to the internet or wifi?
Do we call tablets “smart tablets” because they have access to the internet or wifi?
The term Smart Phone comes from hand-held devices with technology in it that other hand-held devices does not have. But the more common terms for most devices these days apart from phone is “Android Device”, which are devices running the Android OS, or “Apple Devices”, which are devices made by Apple running iOS. And nearly every phone today, has access to the internet, and Wifi.
I’ll put it there way, there is a phone marketing brand here in Australia, called Telstra, and they have a device that looks like the old phones with the number pads dials. The phone is called the Telstra Lite 2, but I think the actual model is from ZTE.

This is an image of what it looks like
This phone, has access to the Internet, and also, Wifi. Is this all of a sudden, making it a smartphone because it has those features?
Don’t believe me, have a look

As I said in this post,
The term Smart Phone comes from hand-held devices with technology in it that other hand-held devices does not have.
Considering almost all hand-held devices have access to Wifi and Internet.
