Is blizzard going to address sockpuppet Jaina

That was some Warcraft 3 character portrait lip smackin.

Maybe these things should be cut scenes instead of ingame scenes? That or don’t do talking scenes? Idk.

Kermit in the muppet movies made more plausible facial movements when “talking”

I just wish they get rid of all these in-game cutscenes, they look really bad and immersion breaking. It would be waaay better if they just let those things in game while i watch from the back of my character.

Context, please?

I refuse to get Shadowlands… but Jaina is my waifu and they better not have done anything bad to her.

I will riot.

There’s something wrong with her face during the most recent in game cut scene and her lips are just like… floppin around and her cheeks are… idk.

It’s like watching that skin robot face talk. It’s way, way more disconcerting than it was in BFA.

Well that’s… not pleasant to hear… at least she isn’t being turned into a dreadlord.

You may continue your critique of the cinematic team’s apparent rush job on the cut-scene without any more interjections from me.

Well, it would be a great turn of events if they were like, “The reason her face was morphing was because the domination magic channeled by andiun was disrupting her illusion”

No, puppet Jaina is simply going to haunt our nightmares from now to the end of eternity…

If you ask me, the Dreadlord version is an improvement…

Agreed! Though don’t know what a waifu is lol - but we can have a two person riot!

Seriously? I love cut scenes and scenarios. Wish we would have a few more!

I like the cutscenes, but I do admit, they need some work. I have to wonder if the engine they use is starting to REALLY hold them back, because the 9.1 cutscenes really showed the games age. But it also showed that they were trying.

I am not a developer or animator but holy moly, I feel like if anything was rushed it was these cutscenes. It was like watching a bad dub or something. It reminded me of Kung Pow! Enter the Fist.

The 9.0 ones were generally okay. I’m pretty confident that they were just rushed.

I don’t know if it’s the engine.
If the animators were rushed.
Or if there’s a bug somewhere that needs to be hotfixed…

But would have done without it.

Halls of reflection did it better.

A waifu is a fictional character that a person believes would make a fantastic wife for them.

The gender opposite would be husbando.

In many aspects it is considered a negative as many people who use it unironically have an unhealthy obsession with a character, or have difficulty separating fiction from reality.

However, as long as you understand that it is a fictional character and merely use it to express care and concern over a character that you like it’s not really an insult and merely a short way of writing: “This character whose success I am emotionally invested in.”

The game was not designed with facial expressions of characters in mind at all. So when Blizzard did try to do it they have to use this weird custom rigging magic where it looks very fake for even a cartoony game.

It’s like watching animatronics from the 90s try to speak.

Or you get cases like the Battle for Lordaeron when Sylvanas jumps off that rock and it looks like a blood elf pressed spacebar and tapped W. Like the kind of terrible editing you saw in the Tunak Tunak Tun video where it was very clearly greenscreened and smashed together.

In game cutscenes are put to shame by really poorly made 2006 machinima videos, they just have higher detail models but are just as awful in everything else.

Nah, just seems rushed and sloppy. If you look at the other in game cutscenes since BFA, the animations were much better even for the SL launch ones.

These cut scenes just look visually worse in 9.1…regression case for sure. If 8 months wasn’t enough time to put together a patch then idk what to tell them. They shouldn’t have made such convoluted systems to begin with that everyone knew they’d spend too much time on trying to balance.
