Clearly according to the devs all of them wrong…

Is Blizzard clueless?
I want to play a mage and be able to tank, heal and DPS.
Make it happen or I’m telling my mom on you. I’ll also say mean things about you on the internet so people will pay attention to me.
I’m not sure what part you’re confused by or I’d be happy to help!
Hear me out here ok?
Maybe, just maybe, designing the game around the 1% that are top mythic raiders and the maybe 10% that only go by sims to decide their choices for them isn’t what is best for the rest?
I for one like the idea of making a choice and sticking with it.
I see a woman I love, and want to spend my life with, I make her my wife (obviously we are assuming its consensual for my analogy).
Suddenly a woman that can make me say, a slightly better writer, appears in my life. why would I leave the woman I love for a slightly better advantage? Did I not choose my wife? I look at the covenant in the same light, each character is making a choice, and I want to be in that situation to MAKE a choice and stand by it, because that is a theme in many RPGs, which at it’s core is what WoW is.
The having to make it harder to come back to a covenant after I leave it makes perfect sense. If I left my wife for that other woman, and things didn’t work out, I wouldn’t expect my wife to just take me back freely and without having to make it up to her.
That is a choice, and that is what sets RPGs apart from say COD or other games that are just brainless story on a rails and nothing you do can make a difference.
Everything you say confuses me.
Another sky is falling in the land of Make Believe. King Friday’s struggles continue…
Not sure how to help then, sorry!
I have a feeling design decisions are currently based of off numbers and how to improve numbers vs. how people there think will create the most enjoyable game. So instead of “do we feel players are enjoying the game and that we have made an enjoyable product”, we have “have we increased our ‘time played metrics’, ‘player engagement’, and ‘MAUs’”?
Can we please please stop this argument. The 1% will do what they need to get around this. This isn’t about min/maxing, this isn’t about metas (which are generally actually a good thing as they save players time), this isn’t about RP.
This is about whether or not punishing people for playing different content is a good idea. This is about whether or not harming players with massive amounts of systems is worthwhile.
So please don’t bring this trite trope up… it has nothing to do with blizzard’s design decision and everything to do with making bad justifications for it.
I do not raid, I do not do dungeons, I do not do any competitive PvP. What I love to do is play around with my character options, try new abilities, and just have fun. Blizzard has decided my play style is unsupported until patch 9.X.
Until or in?
Big distinction there… because it’s just gold expensive now.
No it is about people not being afraid to make a decision and stick by it. Plain and simple. There is nothing wrong with picking a covenant and sticking with it, we do similar with factions, with classes, with races, etc. Choice matters, and if a choice can be undone easily, it is not a choice, it is a temporary feature
Don’t you mean…
Yes.
Yes they are. They have shown and demonstrated without a shadow of a doubt that they are extremely clueless and have no idea what thy are doing. They’re so far out of touch it’s unbelievable.
They’re not making the game for the players, they’re making it for the share holders and ATVI stock margin.
I hope soulbinds are not that game changing (will look up what build is the most balanced for all content and forget about it), otherwise the 1 week CD is just too extreme, thats classic blizzard devs for you, they go 1 step forward then take 5 backwards…
The trees change when you change into a different spec. You also have 3 trees to cater to your content. You can have your ST, AoE and your 3rd can be whatever you need it to be, pvp maybe? But your trees will change. So if you have a certain relic in a slot, that slot will have the other relic you put in there for that spec.
First and foremost: Covenants are a temporary feature they will be undone in 10.0 as such they have zero meaning.
Next… why isn’t what you choose to arm yourself with not meaningful? If you have two swords… one for fighting undead and one for fighting demons why would you lock yourself to the demon sword when you’re about to fight the undead? That would be making a meaningful choice to die. How you load out your character based on what you’ve earned matters a lot. It’s a very personal decision.
No not it’s not, people made their decision when they chose a class. They didn’t choose this and they don’t want this. Saying that is actually really insulting to your fellow players. Please be respectful. This design decision lies fully with the Devs.
Conduits don’t change with spec.
They are
