This isn’t me hating on them but I don’t believe there’s much left of the soul or staff of blizzard. Times are different, companies aren’t allowed as much freedom to experiment, etc.
But considering just about all of blizzards IP’s were major successes at one point, do you think they can do it again?

They could repackage WoW, Diablo or Starcraft with a new skin and call it a new IP and people would eat it up probably.

I assume you mean something on the scale on Warcraft, Starcraft, Halo, Mass Effect, etc. And not just one-off games.
Doubt it. Nostalgia is 90% of what keeps WoW going. If a new MMO launched in the state that current WoW is in, it would be a failure.
Its just dark souks or nioh in a different skin. Id say the same thing about elden ring.

They brought Chris Metzen back. They could totally pull off another IP.
Chris Metzen is the entire reason that Warcraft Lore has ever been good.
He could write up an entirely new IP and make it not suck, I’m sure.
Then the only thing they have to do is figure out which type of game they want to make out of it.
Honestly though I just wish they would hurry up and catch the warcraft RTS IP up to the current timeline.

I mean… How you feel about the game being Dark Souls in China has nothing to due with it being a massive success. The game broke past 2 million players on steam which is impressive.
Also, “Wukong” is pretty much like “Monkey Lucifer goes bananas.” You can’t make claim “Wukong” as an IP like you can “Thrall”, in the same way Blizzard cannot claim “Diablo” as a character name.
Any and all really. I’m not singling blizzard out because the landscape is abit stagnant, still good games coming out but nothing too innovative. This is a long stretch of time but seeing as most blizzards games were pretty awesome if they can pull it off again.
Now a’days I don’t think anything is a one off if it’s successful but yes, new characters, new game, new setting, the works.
I would just be very intrigued to see what they could cook up
