Just looking for other peoples input here, i quit wow most recently in Cata, returned like nov 2017, didnt make my DH until almost the end of Legion and only played Veng. So i had basically no experience as a Legion HDH aside from getting raddons and spamming eye beam 
Ive mained HDH for BFA and its honestly been so much fun, it was kind of meh in uldir, got better in BoD, and once 8.2 came along the spec played quite nicely, the fast pace and durability of the spec sets it apart from all the other classes for me.
So im just curious on others peoples preference on Legion havoc vs BFA havoc, which do you prefer and why?
Also, is anyone else not looking forward to potentially losing furious gaze and chaotic trans? Ide say those 2 traits have been the most impactful to DH for BFA.
It’s more balanced now. Fun level is about the same. It’s nice being able to target Azerite pieces instead of praying for the right legendaries. Talent tree is better-organized now; instead of insane synergy between tiers requiring a certain build, there are a few different builds. Given two years of listening to feedback after throwing darts to make design decisions, Blizz improved DHs substantially.
I do miss stacking critical strike rating to refund CS, instead of the flat 40% now.
I won’t miss FG and CT. FG was fun right after the buff but now it’s just too powerful and ubiquitous to justify using anything else. I look forward to a SL pre-patch when they turn off all azerite, but I will miss essences dearly. Essence choices are my favorite thing about the spec and this expansion over-all.
There are parts I miss about legion and parts I praise about bfa. Like meta duration stacking instead of being limited to one duration stack. But also, legion you could chain eyebeam every 8 sec in dungeons for almost perma meta. Both have their spotlights.
Shadowlands will feel awful though without all the haste we’ve been use to.
I miss all of the artifact traits and legiondaries constantly.
200% haste during meta/lust + ineffable truth procs = 1.5 second cooldown on blade dance.
It’s beautiful, and i’ll miss it.
