I read on a Twitter post last week that looked kind of official that Aug was deemed bad for the game and being dropped at some point, and I imagine soon. That said, I have no idea if the post was legit or not and don’t think it was copied from Blizzard or on its page but really have no idea.
Does anyone know about this or have any related legit info about this? Thanks in advance.
Why would they come to that conclusion months after releasing a spec, lol?
I can’t tell if you’re super gullible or just barely attempting to veil the trolling.

fake news unless someone brings out some proof
If you’re talking about -that- particular photo then I can tell you that it’s not real.

I hope so.
Great concept, but WoW does not need a support spec brought in mid patch/mid expansion.
Was a horrible addition.
Lets fix some other specs that actually need help rather than busting class balance the worst it’s ever been.
Honestly, I thought it was legit at the time, but since I heard nothing else about it I started doubting and wondering yesterday.
If you look at the ceiling you’ll see someone graffiti the word gullible.

Lets just say from a business stand point if you were to tell investors we wasted your money on something we developed and then removed, that lead dev would be fired shortly after lol

But here’s the thing.
Augmentation was meant to be in with release if you actually took the time to read dev interviews and blue posts about Aug, they decided to take more time before releasing it and add more story and lore to it and make sure the spec worked.
Yeah, but if you do a lot of M+ you would be able to relate to the idea that the addition of aug may have created some frustration for those dps mains who don’t play it and have zero desire to play it. Albeit Aug has seemed rudely overtuned, you see a lot getting these very high io scores with very limited numbers of runs done and there being a high demand for them in keys. That in itself is great but implies a few things. First, dps who already have pretty long waits for M+ get even longer waits as a lot are displaced by aug–especially non-meta and lower tier dps. You literally see groups listing as “Have aug,” “need aug,” and such. Second, what I wrote above. That is, displacing others will have consequences to interest in keys for dps mains who are not meta. Maybe not a big deal, but I dunno.
It’s not a big deal, because it’s something that has quite literally always existed.
Anecdotally, some are struggling more with this than others because they have played specs that, until now, have been part of (agreeably sometimes less rigid) meta comps.
I can promise you as someone that has mained fury warrior since vanilla, that some specs have always had this struggle to get into keys.
Aug quite possibly needed to launch this strong, for two reasons:
-
More people adopting augmentation gives blizz more data around how it performs and how it interacts with various comps.
-
They need this data to more appropriately tune the spec going into a new season with RWF and MDI looming.
