whats wrong with enhance this patch? why not try ele its looking good with tier set and the whole spec only has like 7 or 8 buttons. I only played a few lobbies in solo on demo but I got several double rogue lobbies and assa won almost every lobby with 4+ wins seems pretty good
but its kind of pointless to reroll based on balance right now you know everything will be totally different in 3-4 weeks after the crying threads start. This is going to be a really long season too right? This forum is season of discovery waiting room

Its good, but your ramp up is 10x that of sub, so you’re probably just gonna put dots up with cheap (4s) put them on stun DR, and proceed to get instantly crapped on before you can actually get going. If you have a healer its better, the spread pressure is great, even crimson tempest is hitting hard.

really good consistent damage, just doesn’t have the “trinket or die” pressure Subs have.
Assassination is S tier, it’s just hard to see atm because of sub being S++ tier with rotten goremaw and buffed ST. I’m using a build like this:
You have three distinct goes between KB, deathmark, and dance. You can move some talents around to play with indiscriminate carnage against teams that stack a lot. With this build, you have an insane amount of bleed damage, and shiv acts like a microburst on short cooldown, making your bleeds hit a lot harder for the window. Kingsbane will do over a million damage total by itself with ticks 150-350k. Deathmark doesn’t require further explanation, just does a lot of damage the way that bleeds are scaled. The most fun part, imo, is that you have a good use case for shadow dance. Vicious venoms, master assassin, nightstalker all modify ambush and it actually chunks really hard, and you get to spam it in dance. Apply bleeds/shiv, then you get to spam 2-3 ambushes with big bleeds ticking for huge ST pressure depending on what else you have to do in dance to peel or whatever.

Tried popping everything on open in bomb after I got the rotation down this morning, as long as you prevent a dispel its about 1s slower than a non PV stacked Sub rogue. Killed the Rsham before the mount he was on despawned in solo. Fun stuff, reminds me of MOP.
Kingsbane is becoming one of my favorite things even though anyone with 1/8 of a brain is going to peel you out of ramping it.
Good build. That being said I think it still being a Ret/Holy pala meta is going to make it rough for assassination.

it’s just a dog spec. theres a reason the only good player who plays it is Saul.
Hpal feeling real rough atm so maybe assassination rises because of that and everyone on rdruid now
Correct. I would say Assa is a solid A tier definitely a lot better than last season. Could be S but it is a bit too squishy for me to put it in the S tier right now. Sub, DH and Arms warrior come to mind when it comes to S tier dps right now that are melee. They have much more utility, survivability and or damage (Assa is strong on damage just saying the combination of the 3) to bring to the table. Not knocking down Assa but comparing it to others why I am saying its more High A. Now OP If you want to play it go right ahead it is a solid spec and not underwhelming at all. I would keep in mind compared to the other Rogue specs you are much more squishy and I mean much more and unlike Sub your damage needs more time.
Open in a cheap shot garrote ambush rupture mark for death shiv sepsis kings bane cloak vanish and anything dies while ur in stealth. I went 5-1 in solos killing in openers thru heals and defensive.

Many classes like Pallies, other rogues etc can just pop a defensive and slap off your big cooldowns if used in the opener right?

Yeah Mending bandage, BOP, Caut Flame, Cloak of Shadows if running veil honor talent, etc. Assassination does have some some counters for sure.
Do people actually enjoy ele with the 2 button dps rotation?
