i thought area 52 was pve?
Damn I haven’t seen you in forever and a day.
uh… they did do something.
they made it so people weren’t waiting 6 to 8 hours to get in.
well you finally noticed me senpai. right back at you.
Welcome back!
not sure how long i will be back though. if blizz doesnt do something about these bots ruining my questing experience in older content for golds. i’ve never seen an infestation this bad.
Yeah they suck They did ban multiboxing software so I’m surprised they’re still so plentiful.
if sharding did not exist you would not be able to move due to server lag from all the people on said map.
Tichondrius is not that bad I believe. When I logged out last night the queue was about 1600 and I think 35minutes? I cant remember what time it was though but it was 1am CET. So minus 9 hours thats like 4pm?
Where did I say anything about sharding?
well they seem to have banned most of the ones i reported but they keep popping back up at quest bottlenecks…and you can’t quest because of them in wod since it’s forced linear phased questing. can’t get garrison followers for my paladins/demon hunters garrison because of it. wish we could still have them pvped as a temp solution was fun to do on pvp servers.
Its basically the same as sharding but with other servers. Its not like its having these people move into A-52.
No… CRZ =/= sharding.
Cross Realm Zones was put in place to make the “world feel alive.” Its purpose is to bring people from several different realms together.
Sharding can be server specific because it just moves people around when a zone gets too full.
So its sharding? I will admit I dont fully know how the WoW servers operate but I can take a guess going off GW2 servers since they use a single (for PVE) server with map instances.
When a map in GW2 gets full it creates another instance of that map, I assume WoW servers work the same when making a new layer/shard/instance of the map, as in its just a copy. Would CRZ not work in this same exact way but just pull people from different servers to lighten the load?
It is listed as a “Full” server. Full means pretty populated.
NO
CRZ fixes dead zones.
Sharding fixes full zones.
p.s. You can have one without the other. I would be fine on Area 52 with sharding but not CRZ. Area 52 obviously doesn’t need it.
I understand what CRZ is meant to do, however the way it works is basically the same as sharding/layering. sharding is dumb in general and layering is what should be used.
I dont see how CRZ is a issue, its not creating server load for A-52. A-52 problem is the capped login’s.
I never said CRZ was causing the login problem. I never said CRZ was creating a “server load.” Not once. Matter of fact, I never stated why I don’t like CRZ.
But now I will: I don’t like being on a server that’s mashed together with 50 other servers. That’s why I’m on an RP server. It only gets mashed together with other RP servers so there are a lot less people.
For people new to WoW, the bigger full pop realms usually have queues during launch week.
Also remember, full pop has a range. Some realms just meet the cutoff to be considered full pop while others like traditionally large realms like Illidan, Area 52, and Stormrage are well over the cutoff.
I mean
If Blizzard would turn off CRZ for Area 52 I would go back in a heartbeat.
For RP servers I 100% agree CRZ with non rp realms would be a issue. CRZ has done good, the problem is more in lie with how aggressive WoW sharding is.
