Apocalypse, the Unholy DK artifact from Legion. Its backstory is that it was made by nathrezim, same as Frostmourne’s backstory was until Shadowlands. With the Frostmourne retcon that it was made by Mawsworn in Torghast and the nathrezim just took it, would you say this implies Apocalypse was as well?

I don’t think we have any hard evidence at the moment to retcon Apocalypse’s origin, but given the similarity to Frostmourne it certainly looks suspicious. However, we do know that unlike Frostmourne, Apocalypse was used over a long period of time by different Nathrezim in the service of the Legion, and that the blade was repeatedly augmented and refined over time by different wielders. Even if it turns out to have originally been crafted in the Shadowlands, it would still have arguably been turned into a primarily demon blade by the time we got a hold of it in Legion.

The Artifact Lore doesn’t even mention it’s exact origin just that multiple Nathrezim crafted it over the millennia!
Considering it’s ties to Negative Emotions(it inflicts them on villages) I’m assuming it was forged from either Revendreth’s Sin Anima(as some of the Skins resemble said Sin Anima) or the Claw of Y’Shaarj(who has Green Energies flowing from him and breathed by him) traded in exchange for Xal’atath!

It could be they got (Stole) the initial blade from the Shadowlands, then over millennia infused it with rituals & insidious powers, along with bending the aspects of it so they could use it for their own endeavors - Til a pesky champion came by flexing on their armies and causing their own ‘Apocalypse’. 
Ironic twist for the fitting title of the blade, named by the Nathrezim - To unravel others order but not their own …
Apocalypse was not crafted by a single nathrezim. Many of these demons forged and shaped the blade as a tool to hasten the fall of worlds.
Until it’s retconned, it’s a demon-forged sword.
I would assume so as shadowlands seems to be the true origin of all things undead weather you want to believe it was all intentional or if some things they influenced indirectly is imo up to you until they say otherwise.
I would say there are two possibilities.
It is certainly possible that it is from the Shadowlands. Now that we know the origin of the Dreadlords it would not at all be surprising that they took multiple artifacts from the realm of death.
It is also possibility that it was crafted outside the realm of death, but just with knowledge taken from the realm of death. There really is not reason they could not have continued to craft new weapons based on that power.
