Is anyone really invested in this Worldsoul saga?

I’am a little tired of the “everything you thought you knew, you don’t” line. Ion, Danuser, and now Metzen have all said it. If they had done this plot line sooner, like around Cata, I could get on board but it just feels too late. Plus they are now setting expectations and not even Metzen knows what could happen in the future that will effect those expectations.

This feels like the over saturation the MCU is having right now. Too many movies going on and marvel set expectations for phase 4-5, but now their Kang story is going to have problems because of Jonathan Major’s arrest. Marvel set expectations, but couldn’t predict what could break those expectations, same thing could happen with this Worldsoul saga

I mean yeah kinda of happy, but also not happy cause i just want horde vs alliance faction conflict in my face 24/7. with this other stuff as side story.

Funny you mention that.
Danuser has repeatedly stated his belief that superhero movies are the pinnacle of storytelling.

No…but to be fair, I have never really been “invested” in any of the WoW storylines. They have all been poorly written.

I’ve never been able to get too wrapped up in the story of the game, and don’t really care about the setting of each expansion. Could be anywhere and it wouldn’t really negatively or positively affect me.

Whether or not the dungeons/raids/pvp are fun is another matter.

World/quest/casual stuff is always fine, though.

Okay, so what would you rather have? Honest question, as to where the story should go from here.

I’ve wanted to know about that sword for a hot minute. We know Anduin has been brooding for a time and needs to crawl out of his depressive hole (inevitably he needs to return, and have a good reason for it), and no doubt we’ll see Sylvanas again very soon.

The “voice” is kinda silly to me, though. Mostly because it feels like BFA deja vu.

yes I’m def invested in this franchise as a whole now by the time the last expansion in this saga comes out I will be retired over 65… but hey I have come this far I’m willing to go all the way…

ride or die right …

This isn’t a bunch of super new info, though. It’s a continuation of the same story line Metzen was on when they wrote Chronicles 1 (the only good one).

The only “unveiling” that has been hinted at is what the Titans are truly up to, which is something that’s largley been shrouded in mystery anyway.

Who cares, I’m just along for the ride.

I guess if you take it at face value. Yet we’ve been in this story theme for a while now, after Sargaeras stabbed Azeroth, the question about the world soul became apparent with the blood of Azeroth leaking out.
Then with our journey to the Shadowlands, we came across artifacts and architecture older than the Titans, bringing into question the motives and purpose of the Titans themselves, now we are getting into the results of all of that and I am anticipating where it’s going. With less of a focus now on maintaining characters I can actually soak in the story now.

Actually yes, I am for the following reasons…

1-Countless people have wanted to go underground to explore the Nerubian kingdoms for years. Now it’s finally happening.

2-Return to Northrend in part 2. That’s VERY important, that’s what we’ve also wanted to do for a long time.

Not too phased about the third and final expansion yet. Will be too busy enjoying the journey.

Part 2 will be Elven stuff and Quelthalas. Part 3 is Northrend for the big finale.

This.

How was BFA not part of this “world soul saga”?

I agree. I still think we could have done this without any of the world soul non-sense. Silithids and even the Nerubians were things we fought against before the introduction of any of that.

oh yeah sorry got it wrong.

They better revamp Silvermoon.

I’d bet my hardhat that they will.

We’ve been datamining revamped assets for some time now, and that’s just regular world stuff. They’ll be renewing the area for sure.

Well, the vast majority of the playerbase hates the “faction conflict”, so it’s not coming back.

i dont know about the majority but the loud ones definatly don’t like it. It makes me sad to see people playing warcraft and not advocating for war.

It would require one retcon, the Titans actually sacrificing themselves to imprison Sarg thus making Azeroth the actual last Titan. No Worldsoul saga and just the xpac The Last Titan. Xpac would be about Iridikron working with Xal‘atah to bring a, or several, Void Lords into the physical world. Azeroth is, of course, the only being strong enough to oppose a Void Lord so the xpac is primarily about fully awakening her. Xpac ends with Azeroth fully awakening and her awakening doesn’t destroy the planet but it permanently changes it’s landscape. Continents get merged, some destroyed, and we are back to two major landmasses with new zones. This sets up an entirely new game I.E WoW 2 with a world reset.

I honestly have no idea what wow’s story is about or who any character is other than the ones I read about here. I would say I am invested only because I purchased the xpac.

Raises hand nervously knowing that i will get hate*
