I had the idea yesterday to give the Ironman Challenge a go in the Classic environment after launch. I was wondering if anyone else was thinking of doing the same.
I might give it a go down the line when I’m working on my 7th alt or something.
In terms of doing it in Classic it seems like once you’ve got pulling down so you don’t accidentally kill yourself by overpulling, then all you need do is roll a caster and it wont be much trouble.
You’d have to drink more often, but it’s not like gear improves your cast damage until you get close to max level.
If anyone is wondering what this is, you basically delete your character if you are killed or die.
I don’t know what the record is on how far anyone has gotten.
Do you do this on PvP or PVE only?
It’s a bit more complex than that.
Only white/gray items. No enchanted gear. No buffs. No talents. No professions.
I personally would never do this on PVP, there’d be zero chance of completing it.

Nope. Too many ninja mobs. I have an uncanny knack for finding stuff that will eat me.
I will die, and more than once, to random bouts of “I got this”.

It’s just a run to level cap. I doubt you’d be permitted into BG’s or dungeons.
Do the Super Ironman Challenge. No skill purchases. You get what you start with.

Remove everything you’ve gotten. Yell at it for 27 minutes. Punch it a couple times and then change the channel!
Might be item #493 on my list of stuff to do, but will probably give it a try someday.
Probably won’t do the Ironman but way down the road I might try the South Park challenge of lvling 1-60 killing only boars

Not something I see myself doing for more than maybe five minutes at a time tho.
It seems like you would have to remove the no deaths restriction on a PvP server, at least as long as you’re being murdered by another player.
Good thing I don’t roll PVP.
Do you get anything for getting to max, while doing the iron challenge?
