Is anyone else amazed at how many different types of currency are introduced each expansion?

Crests are fine

Remove flight stones

I wouldn’t mind so much if the resources were account bound, rather than soulbound and if they were somehow exchangeable with a reasonable exchange value from one patch to the next.

I loved Cataclysm for that. They streamlined gear currency so well. Justice for previous patch gear, valor for current patch gear. Reputation gear was for gold. So clean.

I don’t think the currencies we currently have are much of an issue right now.

However, I really don’t get the design intent behind flightstones. Not sure why it’s not just crests.

Bring back JP. JP, and valor for buying/upgrading stuff. Get rid of all the other gimmicky currency crap.

Nothing surprises me anymore.

The main issue is they don’t get rid of old/irrelevent currencies by the end of the expansion.

There’s so much stuff that’s just useless at this point, like old Spark items for crafting, and currencies that are only used for one thing/event like Emerald Dewdrops or Paracausal Flakes, Storm Sigils, Elemental Overflow, etc.

All of those could be converged into some generic currency lol. Like with crests.

Only a couple of years ago they brought back the currency you earn from doing Auchindoun dungeons in BC. There’s nothing even remotely useful to a leveler to buy with them, but they brought them back anyway.

Spirit Shards, I remember those.

Probably for transmog, there’s a few blue pieces of gear you can get with those.

I’m surprised they even did that- just make them avaliable for gold instead.

Nobody goes to the Bone Wastes to PvP anymore, lol.

A lot of them are pretty easy to figure out.

I haven’t started Dragonflight yet, and my currencies tab is 4 pages long. 11 currencies in Shadowlands, plus a couple that for no reason at all take up bag space instead of being listed there. Seal Breaker Key. Sandworn Relic. And all those different items that convert into Anima. Does Genesis Mote count as currency?

I still have over 100,000 Apexis Crystals from WoD that I can’t spend, and Garrison Resources, Oil. Legion’s Ancient Mana, War Supplies, Nethershards, Order Resources, Veiled Argunite, Wakening Essence.

Polished Pet Charm, which also takes up bag space, and Darkmoon Game Tokens. I don’t even know what a “Shred of Insanity” is.
