I need a new GPU and want to get something powerful. The only game I play is wow.
No. I play with max settings on a 1080ti. You have zero reason to buy such a modern GPU. Maybe if you play on a 60inch screen. But outside of that, no.
If you like WoW enough to see it in all its full glory, and you have the money to spend, why not?
Smarter to play other things besides WoW if you have a 4090 lol.
What resolution? What’s your average FPS in a hectic boss battle? I mean, WoW can be pretty demanding at “max settings”, so more detailed is needed for even a smidge of believability.
If you only play wow a 4090 is hilariously overkill
Probably not.
I would say it genuinely depends on if your gaming on like an 8k monitor and want to play @ max resolution with good frame rates or something just as insane.
I play at 1440p with max settings, which I believe is a bit higher than 2k resolution. I may upgrade to a 4k monitor at some point but I still wouldn’t change my GPU. The 1080ti is pretty much the best GPU to ever exist when it comes to price per performance. I currently get 60fps at all times except in extreme situations which is very rare.
no i play on gtx 1050 and it works perfectly fine. wow is very cpu intensive rather than gpu.
Does WoW have ray tracing?
You probably aren’t going to see as epic bump in performance as you would expect, because WoW is a very CPU heavy game, but sure why not, if you have a deal or want to futureproof yourself to the max…
are the 4090s still prone to idk catching on fire?
I run a 5700XT & my monitor resolution is 3840x1200. When i first purchased this GPU it was around $450. I feel like a 4090 is overkill, and seeing how the 4090 is an extremely large graphics card, you’ll have to buy a new case if you are running a case thats on the smaller end
As far as I know, the 4090 isn’t worth it in general… Much less to play a 20 year old game.
I thought it was mostly shady adapter cables that were melting, not the cards themselves
Yes; they added it in Shadowlands.
Yes it does
You need to buy the best of everything.
Otherwise how can you call yourself a wow fan?
Making petty and/or nonsensical complaints on the forums is a pretty popular one.
This entire thread was nonsensical. If they are posting here they have a subscription. That means they’re playing. The answer to that was already no.
