Is alliance still truly outnumbered?

I will never understand the 30% and the free 400 piece. Like… just…nvm. People care way too much though. If I had time to learn another MMO I would probably quit this excuse for an expansion.

Everytime I’m out in warmode, the alliance is completely routing the horde.

Yet week after week the alliance has the buff.

There have been a hand full of horde pvp sqauds from time to time, but I’ve never seen a wall of horde and went. “Well shoot, there’s nothing we can do.”

Infact, I see alliance camping flight paths like mad all the time these days.

The 30% is understandable to me as a way of trying to balance out the populations… the 400 piece? That just seems like gross oversight to me.

Total population is irrelevant.

The problem is the incentives they gave Alliance condenses so much of the active population into small areas of the map.

This is the problem and they really need to change the system and quest in order to fix it.

Here’s the rub mate. Horde players were complaining that they couldn’t find enough Alliance players in WPvP. Alliance players didn’t care about WPvP, but Blizzard and Horde players need Alliance players to care about WPvP. Hence the 30% bonus and gear. If you want to see Alliance in WPvP, get used to us having a buff.

Remember kids… We don’t need you. You need us.

this is probably exacerbated by the fact that a HUGE chunk of horde just leave warmode on by default

the ally warmode players are clustered together and turn it back off when the quest/reward is done

horde are across the board and just leave it on

gotta remember, IMPOSSIBLE for ally to even get the buff without major faction warmode imbalance

No. Ion said Horde still outnumber us by a good amount and that it will most likely only go down to a 25% bonus next week.

Ion also said things where pretty fair at the start of BFA and their sharding issues are what caused Alliance to turn WM off as it was pitting a small number of Alliance vs a shard full of Horde. I can confirm this, I loved WM at the start but things got pretty bad where it was 1 Alliance per 10 Horde so I turned it off.

He also said as Alliance turned it off when there were issues pvers turned it on for the free 10% and that’s why your pop is still so much higher. As an Alliance player, I can tell you WM is full of Horde pve players that do not fight back at all unless other Horde players come to help and make it a 3v1. Most of them would rather bubble hearth and waste time running to a new zone than fight a 1v1.

you mean 5v1? quit lying, there is clearly more alliance than horde in war mode right now, especially ‘grouped up alliance’. I dare you to complete the assault using a horde character and having a war mode on. go

The bonus is determined by which faction has more active war mode users, but it does not take into account if those users are actually PvP’ing or if they’re just sitting in town waiting for queue pops.

My guess would be that there’s a lot of Horde care bears who aren’t out PvP’ing, they’re staying in town and not backing you up while you’re out there getting rolled.

A lot of the Horde care bears are turning off war mode if the whining and crying on the forums is any indication, so maybe now you’ll get people in your war mode shards who actually want to PvP.

Carrots work. The carrot is “turn warmode on for your incursion, killing 25 horde, get heroic raid ilevel loot”. Cool… I’ll do that.

Without that carrot, am I going to play my normal world quests in a zone that may or may not have a bunch of Alliance in it when I’m quite sure it has a lot of horde? No.

If the ilevel drops to 385, will I do it? Nope, I’m already 383 ilevel… too many chances of not an upgrade to be worth the risks. I prefer my world pvp to be in a group (I’m a healer) and with an RP reason (I was on an RPPvP server for many years and spent a lot of time with guildmates defending our towns).

The quest is supposed to be a population correction. Horde that don’t like its existence have two population correction options: turn off war mode or faction transfer.

QQ more, I’m not even talking about Assaults. The rest of the zones with no assaults going on are full of Horde and Alliance are still outnumbered big time. The only exception is Drustvar.

Ion himself said the Horde still greatly outnumber Alliance and he ‘expects’ the 30% bonus to only go down to 25%. I do hate all of those people that farm FPs and run around in groups to farm Horde but this is your problem, make your own 5 man groups and kill Alliance if you actually want to pvp. Ion made the quest so Alliance hunt down Horde and force out the pve players that only joined for the 10% bonus without even fighting Alliance.

Blizzard clearly places more players into the Assault shards to make battles exciting. Again, it’s not our fault that the Horde WM is full of players that do not want to pvp. I would love it if you guys made counter groups but going by how things where last night on my hunter I seen groups of Horde run past the 2v3 I was part of and let their faction members die. Then there are the people who run in 1v1’s and even worse the pallys that bubble hearth because they don’t want to die.

Still more Hordies. As of rn, Alliance is pretty bland

Welcome to CRZ and sharding

Which is why it shouldn’t be done by region. It should be done by battle group, or per Shard

This is what I did, even though I almost enjoyed doing it

Technically the alliance is outnumbered.

Practically, the alliance will almost always outnumber the horde due to sharding.

That isn’t even remotely what he said.

He said, it was Even AT LAUNCH… it quickly went in favor of the Horde after launch due to an error with sharding that they weren’t able to fix fast enough. It has been imbalanced in favor of the Horde ever since. And that now the gap between the two factions is half of what it was when they first added the 30% bonus…

Now, take that into account for a moment… the gap has been HALVED, and the bonus is STILL 30%… the bonus is supposed to reduce as the sides become more even… so if Halving the gap is still a 30% bonus, then the imbalance at the start had to have been absolutely staggering… It also means that at half, the horde still outnumber the alliance in WM by a ratio large enough that Blizzard believes is too large for the system to start reducing the bonus.

What was before 8.1? O ya 8.0, which was at launch… So that is actually what he said.

I got one, the game hasn’t switched to Horde having it.

Haha, I win.

Simple,

no benefits. No 10%, no 30# and no gear. Just simply join if you want to.

Then they realize how broken WPvP truly is in this game, because it’s a snooze fest of no thanks.
