Is Alchemy a waste of time?

I went into flask/potion production on my alchemist and I’m having a really hard time making money.

The market has gotten to a point where selling a flask is simply not worth it.

I can make 2 gold level flasks and sell them for 899 each, or 1798 total. It’s not bad. However, if I sell the material to make the flasks, it totals over 2700 gold.

I’m not an AH goblin who can shift/control the prices of things. Just a casual alchemist trying to make some gold. Im starting to think maybe I should just focus on Transmutation instead. Flask/Potion production just doesn’t seem profitable

I can’t speak for the market. I’ve been making a lot of gold off of the vers flasks, but I get a lot of resourcefulness and multicraft procs. I don’t know if I have better than average luck or if it is common though.

Yeh…since the merged the servers in the AH for a lot of items its pretty much not worth the time. I use to spend hours farming herbs and minerals. I didn’t make bundles of gold but was able to make a profit worth the time. It was a great way to decompress after work. Now…just not worth it .

The results in this thread are still valid. I just checked them, and while the numbers have shifted, the resulting profits are roughly the same.

Were you confused about my answer last time?
