After the developer Q&A talking about the changes coming to 8.2 which could potentially be changes that are amazing to gearing and content.
Here is my question to everyone.
Is 8.2 too late to make expansion saving changes? I know MoP kind of a success story with starting not great but ending fantastically. Can BfA do the same or has the Azerite system and warfront/expiditions just not good enough and should just move on to the next expansion?

I’d say today is too late. Since the subs have already left.

if 8.2 allows us to finally play as a kul’tiran then it’ll save the expansion for me, if not then i’ll be unsubbing untill the kul’tirans are finally added

With all the bugs and inconsistencies of late, Blizz really needs to pull a rabbit out of their hat to save BfA.

The base of the game is built on the azerite system. Unless they make some groundbreaking systemic changes where the azerite traits begin to resemble its legion artifact tree counterpart, I would say anything else is just jerry-rigging a tremendously flawed and dull gameplay system.
I doubt they will change how azerite works. If 8.1 was any indicator, they might switch out talents here and there, but that’s about it.

MoP didn’t end fantastically it had a nice surge of the game not sucking with Throne of Thunder and went down hill again with SoO.

I disagree I enjoyed SoO, Throne of Thunder was the best of that xpac. but I really really enjoyed SoO.

Despite you liking it subs kept going down and slightly increased during SoO.

I’ve always wondered why so many people seem to equate sub count with how much fun they are having in a game.

Dont you know numbers=fun

I think basic intelligence would indicate that more subs = more popularity, and hence more “fun” (whatever that means) is being had.

The Azerite changes in 8.2 or 8.1.5 (whenever it is now) need to re-haul the current system.
It has shaken up endgame content for the worse.
Another gripe are classes, they need to overhaul some specs.
SoO was a fantastic raid, its downfall was it lasting for 14 months.

Only way to get subs back at this point would be to give us a whole new class like a Tinker or Void Deacon and then to advertise the hell out of it on TV and social media to show players what is new. BfA is Too far gone no amount of class balancing or talent tree rework is gonna be enough to get players back.

SoO did not the lasting effect of Icecrown. But still was a fantastic raid.

On one hand I figure they will WoD the expansion and just start working on the next thing. On the other hand they dont have the subs to lose (idgaf what you white knights say) at this point.
They need to just hand out some allied races, flying and what ever else and they might not just crash and burn.
I just came back. The guild I joined in Legion was a good sized guild with alot of active people when my main guild bit the dust. This guild is done now. All my friends who are still in game are hanging on by a thread and all say the same thing “Boring expansion.”

Here is the thing. I see the point that many here do not like this expansion. But, on the servers I am on I see lots of people playing. And on a couple of the less populated severs that used to be pretty empty I have seen a lot of people playing since 8.1 landed. So some people are liking it and playing.
Is it my favorite? Nope. But I do not think it needs to be “saved”. It certainly can stand to be improved in many areas and 8.1 was a start.

Do you think the folks who are still “liking” the expansion and still plan to play it through are:
- the majority 2. the minority 3. able to carry BfA’s weight on their own.

I am fairly certain I read that the new races will be available after the next raid launches. Think it was January.
