Is 6% more than 6% when looking at meters?

I’m not very good at math, but is this 6% going to be a matter of just adding 6% to the damage we were pulling before on the meters? Example: I do 100k on boss X, now I’ll do 106k?

It’s more than that right? Shouldn’t all the abilities and interactions have some type of compounding effect from a buff to ALL abilities or am I dumb?

That’s how I see it. I can’t really think of any of our abilities off the top of my head that really build off each other, damage wise. So that 6% won’t be much help. Hopefully I’m wrong.

my thought process was that, with the higher % of everything, that means every crit does more damage, every blackout reinforcement 200% is gonna do more damage compounded at a higher %, spinning crane kick procs, etc… Maybe im not understanding math right here, but i would imagine 6% actually leads to a lot higher than just 6% added on to current logs. Waiting for someone smarter than me to come discuss

No, it’s less. Only about 85% of the damage you deal is affected by the Aura buff to abilities. Enchants, Trinkets, Embellishments, Touch of Death, Touch of Karma, etc., do not.

It is roughly a 5% increase to your actual damage.

So the math behind it is more complicated, but basically the 6% doesn’t apply to all the damage we do.

Jeremoot is correct that we’re expecting it to be around 4.5-5% more damage in most content.

Bollocks. I totally spaced the damage that comes from other sources. So, basically, we’ll still be on the bottom?

Yes. Still at the bottom, and still a good margin from the average.

We needed the blue post to say 15%, not 6%.

If tier didn’t require a GCD for Blackout Reinforcement (auto-kick on next Chi use instead), what’s the delta?

That change alone (execute on next Chi spender for 0 chi) would bring us to about 230k DPS, and around 240k with the 6% buff next week. It would bring the total tier benefit up to about 16%.

Both would be inline with most other DPS specs. (In Single Target)
