Is 3800 the highest rating ever achieved?

Saw the EU ladder and noticed that someone ended up hitting 3800. That’s pretty crazy to me, not sure who that guy even is, thought for sure #1 was gonna go to Whaz/Raiku’s team but looks like they are under that guy and some 2nd mage (I think it’s the same mage taking both #1 and #2?).

I would’ve loved to see those games, if anyone knows if they were streaming or recording them…

I wouldn’t doubt if it was any different than 3400 rated games. How much more skill can you have at that point and not just win based off RNG?

It’s not so much RNG per se, it’s just dependent on what other comps are queueing at the time and how well you match into them.

Obviously queuing into a comp that does well against you doesn’t mean a 100% loss every time, but statistically you will be at a disadvantage more often then not.

Technically no. Highest ever was a group of russians that win traded in, I believe, Cata to 3913.

But it doesn’t change the state. It’s the same r1 players playing. It just shows how hard EU grinds over NA, but also the level of competitiveness EU has over NA.

On top of all that it shows that if you abuse a god damned meta comp that has 0 flaws, and constantly play at the peak level, you will get high.

The game is good wen melee cleaves dominate and rmp is the one who slays them. Lock , hunter and shaman metas are toxic

The dude that hit 3800 is Maro the AWC champion in 2020 and 2021 and Blizzcon finalist in 2019. He is a professional wow player.

Yeah I thought they were exploiting some bug back then for insane cr or mmr.

Yeah, group of 12 guys kept abusing the bug and wintrading it to each other. IIRC they got the hammer

Im not a fan of RMP when its as strong as it was this season and DR trackers make it really easy for them to win.

Wasn’t that the season that mmr got on every ladder got entirely reset like a few weeks into the season making it literally impossible to catch up to or pass those that climbed in those first few weeks?

Or was that a fever dream? I’m like 80% sure it was real.

Cata definitely had some kind of mmr thingy between 9 and 10 I believe.

I mean you’re not entirely wrong here but there is absolutely a difference; it’s not coincidence that Raiku Whazz and Meh are the 3800 team. Objectively better than everyone else, grind harder, and play the games most free comp, in maybe it’s most unfair state of all time.

They reset the ladder a few weeks into s9 but it didnt really do anything.

People would take say a 2600 mmr character and queue with 2 people who had like 1400 mmr and they would boost their mmr even higher while farming like 2k teams. They would do this on 3 characters and then queue those 3 characters together.

The result was teams being 3400 with sub 60 games. I recall a couple of tsgs that were like 34 and 15.

rating has no actual connection to quality of gameplay, what’s important is relativity. there have been several seasons where whazz’s team are 3400 because that was the absolute apex of the ladder. for comparison:

So who is this mage Âzx thats on top of the final EU ladder now at 3815? I see the other 2 mages at 3.8 Raiku and Klßa (which is Maro), but who is Âzx? He doesn’t show up on any sites like check-pvp or xunamate, arenamate and all that.

That was MOP S1

EU is not grinding brother, top 200 is almost 80% wintrade xD

I got 4k rating once it was good times :+1:

In S9 of Cata, didn’t people exploit and hit 4k once? I think if I can remember, if you left the arena before the match ended, you didn’t lose any mmr?

It’s Bloomsday of course. On his EU alt account.
