226 is trash too that you will eventually vendor when you upgrade it. Gear is one of the least permanent aspects of this game.
True, but at least 226 will last you the tier. 200 ilvl will last you like 1-2 weeks at best.
Really depends on how you play though. I mean it looks like this is gonna be a pretty long tier so honestly, if I was at max ilvl right now I’d just probably unsub or collect more battle pets or something cause what would there still be to do?Even if I had the gear to do mythic raiding, I just wouldn’t. I don’t need a game to feel like a full time job. If others like that then sure, it’s smart to get to that ilvl fast but for me? I’m okay with getting closer to max ilvl over time through having some days I don’t do anything but world event stuff and maybe callings and others on which I might try to push keys.
I will progress in ilvl over time, just it really doesn’t matter to me how fast that goes at the moment. I’m in a solid spot where I can do the content I want to do and the highest I’d go would be m+15 or doing Nathria on heroic anyway. Never wanna do arenas anyway - or mythic Nathria
I’d bet that 95% of current subs are under 210.
Reaching max ilvl is when the game begins lol. Can’t do any interesting stuff until you max out. Maybe that’s just me, though.
Oh I’m sure it’s not just you. There’s many people who play the game like you do. Just there’s also many people with a different mindset
Ps: you’re at exactly 444 posts and I’m at exactly 333 posts now
I’m bored and when COVID is “over” I won’t resub. I would imagine sub numbers would drop a ton when we’re all done “working from home”.
So call us bad, call us entitled, make a little spreadsheet on how I should be happy with what the gear I max out in 2 weeks, this game has 9 million less players than it did 9 years ago. People like me, who haven’t played since MoP are back because of COVID. It’s Blizzard’s chance to retain me and it’s not looking they will.
The loot system sucks this expac. Last expac I’d be just above heroic level gear as a casual through mythic plus . This expac , 202 is about where I’m at . So they penalized casuals 10-15 item levels so the 1% that barely play after they’ve complete mythic raid can feel special
I want to do world quests that reward 226ilvl gear cause that’s my end game
M+ should be closer to to Heroic dungeon item level and the gap between rated and unrated ( unranked? ) PvP gear should be smaller.
Why?
Also, why?
Sinful aspirant can be levelled to 197. 3 item levels lower than conquest gear. The PVP system for gearing is fine.
What they should add in terms of PVP is brackets or some kind of matchmaking, but as others have stated elsewhere, the wait times would become pretty horrendous.
Imagine thinking 220 ilvl gear is slightly better than average.
In all honesty, gear is always weak (last few expansions, anyways) in the initial .0 patch. .1 will give us a bit of inflate, then .2 more, then for the end, were gods running around again.
Its not the power of the gear thats concerning right now, its the availability of it, again, compared to the last few expansions. Many who play are not used to upgrades being so scarce, coming from legion, wod, etc.
Gear will come, item level will inflate, and we will all go back to crushing elites in no time. . . I just want glad stance back
200 ilvl is the gear point at which all the world content smooths out. Once you hit 200, the mobs in the world melt, WQ mobs become inconsequential, and you can AoE farm like a boss for meat/leather/etc.
It is also the ilvl that you can raid heroic and pull appropriate numbers (as low as 190 is fine in there, but 200 is when it gets smooth).
It is also the ilvl at which you can do 7-10 keys without making your guild mates utterly carry you through them.
So yes, it’s a good ilvl.
This expansion DOES hand out gear like candy. You can get 197 gear from your mission table, for crying out loud. You can get 197 gear from WQ’s. You can craft 200 ilvl trinkets (or buy them). You can get 197 gear with anima from your covenant hall. You can get 213 (heroic raid ilvl) gear from your weekly. You can get 207 gear from world bosses. The epic rain is everywhere.
So, I really don’t understand the whinging, and I don’t sympathize with it. You can easily get any character to 200+ without setting foot in a raid, and you can get any toon to 197 without ever setting foot in group content of any kind.
And 197 item level is quite good. It is a nice starting point for group content, and you could easily jump into a heroic raid wearing that gear. You can do M+ in the low keys with that gear. You can trivialize absolutely any world content in that gear. It is enough. It just is.
For all the people saying they want a progression path in solo content…you have one. Please stop saying that you don’t.
I don’t think you’re bad or entitled. I simply think you believe that magically having a higher item level available to you would make you more engaged with the game, and I disagree.
If you don’t enjoy the content (or cannot participate in it for some other reason) that drops higher item level gear, then what you’re probably experiencing is boredom rather than dissatisfaction because of loot scarcity.
Loot up to 200 is literally everywhere and falling from the skies in SL. If the issue is that you don’t get better gear after two weeks from the 60 ding, then the issue isn’t the gear. The issue is that you’re out of content.
Having them swap out your WQ rewards to 213 gear won’t change that. No matter how high the gear level from that content is, you’ll still “max out in 2 weeks.”
If you don’t raid, you don’t M+, and you don’t PvP…gear isn’t going to fix your stated problem with the game.
Honestly, I think the fact that you can get almost a full set of ~190ish gear and a LFR weapon simply for doing your campaign kinda devalued gear for a lot of people.
They look at that gear as the absolute bare minimum instead of being significantly ahead of Heroic and M0 loot and get frustrated that when better gear isn’t equally as easy to obtain.
And then when Blizzard lavishes attention on M+ and Raid loot, they get upset, why aren’t they getting loot since they’ve also hit a wall in gearing.
If your rewarded 226 loot from WQ’s and callings, they’d just complain they don’t 233 weapons and trinkets.
Back in my day I had over 900ilvl so get gud
