Is 1.5mil HPS as Resto decent?

I’ve watched guides, I have the right talent setup, some BiS, etc, but I’m still finding people heal more than me even if they’re below my ilvl (644). I heal about 800mil to 1.2b total (Wildstalker) in M+ and 300-400mil in raids (Keeper). Is 1.5mil HPS bad?

In raids that depends entirely in your co healers, in keys it depends entirely on your party’s defensive and dodging skills.
You can upload a log though to warcraft logs and itll parse you against other resto druids at similar item level or overall if youre curious in a more numerical way.

Those numbers dont look horrible though, very middle of the road from what ive seen healers do normal through heroic raid.

There are way too many variables that come into play to give a ballpark answer here. HPS will vary depending on boss and group comp. If you have more healers, that will tend to bring your HPS down as there is only so much healing that can be done and that’s split between the healers. Similar situation depending on if your co-healers are good or bad.

There is no answer to that. Your HPS and total healing is limited by the amount of dmg people take, your own contribution as a player on your own HPS is pretty low, you just spam as long as people are not topped and that’s it. People sitting in fire and failing mechanics are a bigger boost to your HPS than your own improvement both in player skill and gear, specially in M+, assuming no one dies from said dmg.

You will also find that as people get more gear and get better with the content they will take less dmg and your HPS will drop as the season moves on, specially in raid, bit less in M+.

So there is no way to say if your numbers are good or not, in fact you could run the same exact dungeon with different people and have completely different numbers in the end specially if people use their defensives well, or if they have group CDs to use, or what tank you’re healing, etc. If you run with a DK using AMZ, a shaman using ancestral guidance, a spriest using vamp embrace and an evoker using zephyr decently well, your HPS will drop drastically yet everyone will live more easily than if you had a group with like all warrior hunter rogue DPS.

Very roughly, I think it’s fair to say that if you’re not doing about 1million HPS in raid at 644 item level that you probably have room for improvement. If you’re doing under 500k you’re doing something wrong. If you’re doing above 1.5 million, you’re good.

Very roughly. Very very roughly.

If everyone is alive at the end, it was enough. Also, in 5 man content, I’ve put more healing into 2s than 10s cause the players are generally better as well

Its so hard to tell. Cause as a disc priest i usualy do under 1.5 mil in raid at the end but according to lpgs im lime at the 70th% for disc priests

Thanks everyone! I was purple parsing in Normal LoU, but I’m green parsing again in Heroic lol, so I was wondering if my rotation was totally off. I enjoy doing rated PvP as well, and that’s where I tend to hear complaints about my (and other people’s) healing - I’m sure it’s salt, but I know I was lacking a bit in S1 too!

Heroic the first week i did it i fell almost to grey anf now back up around 70. It could be either you are still figuring out how to heal the players durning heroic or your players are still learning how to do it too like not getting to far away

It depends on a lot of things but 1.5 in raid is good yeah. Better than some healers i know. Healing numbers are more complicated to understand than dps since theres more context required.

Edit: like you mentioned parses. A lot of that comes down to how much damage your raid takes and how much your co healers are healing.

You didn’t hear this from me, by you can cheese healer parses by intentionally eating mechanics that aren’t 1 shots

As a semi decent healer this is my 2 cents:

Healer parses are a joke specially on easier content.

The numbers depend on the amount of damage people take + the button pressed by your other fellow healers (meaning if they pressed it first and topped everyone you kinda just overhealed).

What Id say is if people are not dying because of the lack of healing, you’re doing a decent job.

Good healers shine during moments of chaos when everything is going downhill. If thats not happening you shouldnt care about the numbers.
