Is 1250io not enough for pug 15s?

Genuinely confused why I’m having to repeatedly queue for groups as a relatively geared (216) and 5/8 +15, 3/8 +14 healer.

I queued for LFG groups for 45 minutes straight and didn’t get a single invite. It feels like I’m queueing as a DPS.

People with better scores than you in the queue, that’s all.

Yup… better IO and probably ilvl. I’m currently 1305 io and 221 ilvl and regularly get declined as both dps AND heals

that’s because you’re playing a suboptimal m+ class. Even if a mage with lower io score que’d i bet they’d pick him over you.

There is this really cool feature where you can start your own groups! Try it out some time.
If you don’t get a 15 key you need, drop it to a 14 and try again.

Depends on whoever is making the group. Sometimes not even 1.5k is enough.

I get denied groups at 1400+ IO so don’t take it personally. Just keep applying.

1250-1300 is the general benchmark though for doing +15 keys and higher though.

People start wanting 1500+ to do 17s and higher.

because a ton of 220+ people with 1500+ IO queue for 15’s just to get their weekly done.

It’s honestly mostly the +14 keys getting flooded with higher IO people. If people have KSM they don’t bother doing +15s since the difficulty spike over a +14 to +15 is noticeable. I have only been doing +14 keys on Tyrannical and bad affixes week and see people 1500-1800 IO queuing up for 14s all the time.

arguable.

I avoid 14’s since I expect people to be substantially better in 15’s and 16’s, making the entire dungeon easier…

Also, i’ll do a 16 HoA over a 14 SD ( exemple).

I won’t touch SD with a 10 ft pole on Tyrannical week. Easily the most busted and overtuned dungeon to clear.

Not a helpful suggestion if the OP was trying for KSM.

Two things are really irritating me here.

1250 should not be the benchmark for 15s. You literally can’t reach this score without doing half your 15s. I had 1185 IO when I had everything timed on 14 and was applying to 15s. I have two 15s done now and only 1210. It would take me 2-3 more timed 15s to even reach 1250, by which point, I’d have half or more of them completed.

Benchmarks are fine, but if they exceed the score you can even get doing all the dungeons at the previous level. Any benchmark for a new type of or level of content that can’t be reached by completing all previous levels of that content is nonsensical.

Two, while I appreciate the flexibility of the great vault, the need to bang out 10 14s per week absolutely floods that bracket with overqualified players in LFG and makes it legitimately difficult for persons who belong in 14s to actually get into them.

as of today, it’s not. Higher end players were 1250 like in the first 3 weeks of M+ or less. A couple weeks ago it was still considered high. It’s still considered good, just any serious m+'er is like 1600+ right now.

If you ever list a +15 key, you will legit get like 80 applicants. Many of which will be 1700+ io people who are just trying to blast 15s for great vault choices as well.

Yes, and this is a major design flaw IMO, as it prevents people who need those 15s timed from getting into groups and improving their score.

As I said, I’m all for the GV, but 15s should be filled with people who have timed all their 14s and need 15s for score and/or KSM. 15s should NOT be full of folks who should be doing 16+ and are just trying to fill the GV.

No, the design is fine. That is why you are given a key of your own. Level that key up to 15 and be the guy with 100 applicants to choose from, instead of the guy fighting 100 applicants for a spot.

You have entirely too many opinions on how players should be completing 15s for someone who hasn’t done any of them. Perhaps I should start haunting your tank balance threads and offer all my uninformed input about what it’s like tanking M+ as a druid.

You’ve done 2 yourself champ, don’t get carried away.

I’m sorry that you can’t understand why the key system actually helps people like you and me but the highest key level completed on one of my 4 level 60s is not the powerful argument you think it is.

I just +2’d off of a +13 Plaguefall, and it turned into a +15 Mists, so we ran that. It was my first +15, and we timed it with me being 915ish IO (ilvl 211) after that Plaguefall. :3

But I do get declined a lot trying to push into 13s in general. Still get declined for 12s. I have a much better chance if I try to queue into a group early, before they fill the melee slot(s) with better specs.

What happens is as people move up in IO score is they generally start requiring people to match or be slightly lower than their score. So it creates this waterwheel effect of average IO scores going up each week as do to the expected “minimum” scores to complete a particular key. So those that are moving up to their first +15s are going to have a hard time finding a group.
