I’m looking through several realms on ironforge.pro and noticing on many of them, their population has dropped by a considerable percentage since the previous report.
Benediction: ~3,000 lost since previous report
Faerlina: ~2,000
Grobbulus: ~800 horde, ~800 alliance
Whitemane: ~1500
Did they change the way they calculate population? or is this a result of the Wrath announcement? or possibly the SWP PTR?
The population is tracked by raid logs, so there were less people raiding. That doesn’t mean the actual population dropped. People could be burnt out and waiting for phase 5, or working up alts, or not raiding on alts anymore etc.
Assuming it’s actual drops in players (and not as other’s said: people waiting on P5 and not raiding atm).
I think the more accurate reason would be the knowledge-drop that there wouldn’t be a TBCC Era server group. Some just straight up don’t want to play Wrath. Some are seeing this as a sign that Wrath won’t have Era servers either…in both cases, then, the feeling would be: What’s the point in continuing to play [TBCC]
I think most ppl see Illidan as the big bad of the xpac, they don’t care for sunwell.
Also, wotlk confirmed so take a break before re-roll/prep for wotlk.
