Hey everyone, first time Alliance player. What is the preferred City for Alliance to set their hearth to?
You’ll probably find that you’ll set your hearth to an inn in a zone you’re questing in. I change my inn every few levels depending on where I’m question.
Then you can hit up a mage for a portal or take a FP to a major city when you need to go there.
If I’m not questing I’ll set hearth to SW (personal preference) and there’s always the deeprun tram to get between IF and SW.

Ironfordge is near
Menethil harbor: Goes to Theramore > Flightpaths bear Gadgetzan or Darkshore > Teldrassil
Tram: Stormwind
You’re a warlock, choice is easy.
Stormwind = has demon trainer
Ironforge = has no demon trainer
Anyway the best hearth spot is menethil harbor. U can pick two boats to very distant places on Kalimdor, north and southish; also you’re in the middle of eartern kingdoms.

It has one, it’s in the building next door to the warlock trainer.
Set your hearth ti theramore like I did. It puts you at menthil hardbor on the other side. Both ofnthose docks are close to midway between each continent. Makes flying a lot easier.

Back in the Day Alliance huddled around If since it was closer to everything we needed at 60.
Stormwind is much prettier and feels more aesthetic but we will all live in IF when end game content really gets going for most of us.

When I was 60 in Vanilla, my hearth was set to IF, but being a mage, I could get anywhere fast. IF bank and AH were slightly more convenient though.
What kind of mage sets his hearth to a city?

leveling, SW but once you hit 60. IF.
back then the servers weren’t really advanced so people made their homes SW due to less activity and no lag.
but Horde : ORG / Ally : IF

I am jealous over not having portals. Mages always seemed very fun. I might make a mage alt later on down the road

Ironforge is closer to both the plague lands, and Thorium Point, and to the boat to AQ. It’s also where Greatfather Winter hangs out.
Stormwind is closer to Zul’Gurub.
Is there an AH in SW? Used to only be in IF so thats where I bound back then.
I dont remember when they added the extra auctioneer npcs, but i noticed then in UC so who knows.
