Ironforge is a ghost town

I remember back in vanilla when Ironforge was the hotspot and stormwind was the ghost town. Totally reversed now. Ironforge is dead except for a few AH alts. Is it like that on your all servers? Does the horde side have a similar situation?

The alliance is a ghost town.

I miss Ironforge.
My guess is if a portal room is added things might change. Everytime I play my mage I always opt to go to Ironforge without having to worry about using the tram.

Yep, the other cities are pretty empty too. It’s just because everything gets funneled to SW/Org so no one really goes anywhere else.

Give Ironforge and other cities the ethereal services, barber shops and at least a portal to the Portal Room and it’ll probably get livelier.

I see some people in IF but never more than about 10-15 people max. It is a little sad to see such a cool city almost empty. Stormwind on the other hand has lots of people all day, but that’s because Blizz decided to give SW all of the basic necessities and the beginning of almost all quests. Hell even my Dwarf heritage armor questline started in SW. Why? Why not ironforge since ya know it’s a Dwarf heritage armor lol

Yeah, in vanilla, IF was a more central location for all the Alliance races. It also has a much better layout than SW. I’m not sure where people congregated on Horde side. I do remember seeing plenty of people in UC though.

But Blizz went all-in on making SW and Org the capital cities. They’ve done plenty of things to force people to go there. Cata portals, new portal rooms, PvP vendors, etc.

My guess is that they want the braindead players to think that there’s lots of other people playing, and putting a bunch of people together in one place helps that.

No it’s not, don’t be that guy.

Which guy? The guy telling the truth instead of hiding behind blind fanboyism?

Would that make it a “Ghost iron” town?

Put the next raid right next to Ironforge and people will stay there again.

Org is populated rest is dead. Exodar is even worse. Not sure why they keep these major cities if they are dead. Revamp them to make them useful imo.

I think it would be nice if blizz added more NPCs doing random tasks and selling different items and services in capital/major cities to make them seem more alive.

Why? Would you go there?

Not really, there are still alot in Org, but most people are out doing World stuff. And people are in the Vale/Uldum, or doing raids, mythic pluses, PvP, or Horriific Visions. I notice on my server people don’t just hang around in Org or a major city all day and night.

Silvermoon horde side is mostly dead. Not being able to fly there prob doesn’t help either

Org has pretty much always been the main city for Horde. UC and TB weren’t completely ghost towns but Org was always more popular.

Yeah if NPCs offered cool new quests or items to purchase. Some would be rarer than others. It doesn’t make up for less players, but it would make things feel a little more alive.

With the destruction of UC, we have a portal that goes straight from Org to SM now. …Not that it seems to have helped anything.

Agreed. Nothing relevant happens in any other city besides Storwind. At least add a portal room to all of the major cities and we might see livelier cities.

Also on my main I prefer to hearth to my garrison to use the AH or black market. In Org there is usually so many people stacked on the Auctioneers it’s really annoying. But on this guy I go to Org, and the least populated AH. Usually Goblin Slums or The Tauren AH.
