Ions open discussion with Preach

PvE will never be good again until 10 man mythic is back and PvP will never be good again until borrowed power is gone entirely.

According to these forums, 2.4 is pretty easy to get. So maybe ion is right? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :innocent:

they 100% need to make it so you can switch covenants based on the spec/comp you’re playing,

Think they just need to make all this stuff very minimal impact in pvp, and also consider something’s disable considering its functionality.

I don’t think anyone will be upset if they just farm their bis pieces for min/max stats and then Q up.

Really don’t care so long as it’s fun.

I get what dude is saying that this is an RPG and while some just want to farm mats, rep, bis and be the same as every single other player across the world he thinks that’s wack

F The hunt tho, ardenweld demon hunter gonna piss me off

The actual reason you’re looking for is that Ion isn’t in charge; he answers to Activision’s finance goons. They need to hit certain “player in-game hours played” metrics each quarter so that they can get their bonuses. I almost guarantee you that this is the reason we have so much player-unfriendly, timegated, drawn out B.S. in the game lately.

I would not be shocked at all to learn that this is also the reason that this covenant system is going to be so unfriendly. Players needing to create multiple characters to use different covenants = more hours played. I’m sure Ion can see how terrible this “permanent choice” idea is. But I bet he doesn’t have a choice.

I really at this point think Activision isnt worried about WoW. They’ve been here since wotlk and lowkey might of saved it from a financial standpoint. Dudes were getting bonuses for 100s of thousands in bonuses before activision stepped in.

Ion is simply designing an RPG that PvPers dont like

I think they are designing a single player RPG, and that’s the problem.

All these changes sound great for the solo adventurer who lives inside Torhgast.

But maybe that’s the WoW population now, maybe is 60%+ just people who want to play brain dead DHs and solo the world. =/

Well said, I agree, I don think the pvp community weighs on any of their decisions for WoW. I don’ know why people still take WoW PvP seriously, if you enjoy it then good but, its not fun playing a game where ur odds of winning can be extremely low due to game imbalances before you even come out of the gate regardless of how much you outplay the other team.

Shut up, pvp guy.

It starts with the letter “addiction” and ends with the letter “justifying it by telling everyone there’s nothing like it”

Must of us are awake to it, it’s just crazy no one has dota all stars’d wow pvp

We’ll make the best of it because it will still be unique and fun to an extent but there will be blatant broken things in SL with the layers on layers of systems in place again

The era of pvp we want back, end of wrath to MoP is a decade, 10 years behind us

And folks still cling on to it like it will come back

It’s unfortunate that they can’t make the game so fun to play that people just can’t stop playing. Instead, they resort to extensive grinds to stay on top of the power curve.

Agreed. Since pve will probably be a factoring pvp again being at a disadvantage in pve because of our choice in more pvp centered choice in convenant will put pvpers at a disadvantage. It is laughable that anyone could think that a 15 should reward the same as a cr 2400. Rolled my eyes when he started talking about making distinctions with rng to characters so they arent the same, what is the difference between an 1800 and a 2400 lock? One just has better gear. Seems like more the same for SL. BFA continued

They put a lot of effort into TBC, Wrath and hell even Cata and Mists.

Maybe “any other in memory” is only talking about WoD, Legion and BFA?

They should have just made it so all covenants have the same abilities but different animations. For example, one covenant has that teleport and a different covenant would have had the same thing, but your character leaps at the location or dashes to location.

Also, there was a point in the interview where Ion said if they need to nerf an ability they will give the player base plenty of time to know it’s coming as opposed to just putting it in game. When he said that I’m like - great so instead of realizing we made a mistake and have to start with a new covenant, you’ll make that choice for us, thus forcing us to start with a new covenant.

Great system.

Sadly, this feels right.

My only solace is knowing that logging daily to run a few BGs after work with a cold one in my hand while waiting in SW must really frustrate the powers that be. I’m too old and set in my ways to change so, good luck Blizz with all the forced hoop jumping. lol

I mean, are you honestly complaining that they will be balancing extremely busted outliers? If they give us ample time to adjust, fantastic. Ideally I’d rather they nerf outliers than buff the lagging ones to almost busted levels, because I don’t want covenenant abilities to be game changing regardless.

Lot of weird takes on Shadowlands, lot of complaining just to complain honestly.

Why doesnt 2100 reward +15 equivs and 2400 mythic raid levels
