Ion says patch 11.1.5 failed

From the game director himself Ion says patch 11.1.5 was a failure and “we need to do better” what do you guys think of this? Do you believe him that hes actually going to try to do better? or is it just the same old PR stunt and damage control.

I personally think this is pathetic and after playing WoW for so many years we have all heard “we need to do better” or “what we have learned” yet nothing has changed for the better and patches continue to release with problems. I cant post links but the full article is on Icy-Veins if anyone wants to look it up.

Was it the bugs with the patch? If so I don’t see how Ion was even involved

If it’s the design I think 11.1.5 wasn’t a failure, but a success, it’s always fun when the crest caps are removed and you can just keep shaking the M+ genie to get unlimited good gear

I haven’t even touched the Nightfall stuff yet lol.

In what way did he say it’s a failure? If he’s talking about the bugs, I agree (though they were mostly fixed pretty quickly, quicker than Siren Isle for sure). But other than that, I’d say 11.1.5 is just as good as any other mid-season patch.

Is just the same old PR sht n dmg control.
They will never learn or change. We all should know by now lol

Talks about the bugs and timegating content like HV and Dastardly Duo.

He mainly mentioned the bugs and how broken the patch was at first and also said they shouldn’t have timegated horrific visions and the other content of the patch so much.

I think he just meant the bugs. Aside from those, which are a problem, the patch is fine, and we haven’t seen all of it yet. Just lifting crest caps and lengthening Hero/Myth tracks alone is a big win. This forum needs a crybaby emoji.

Admitting a mistake is already much more than most are willing to do these days. Not saying that’s good enough, but it’s a start.

Who knows if it failed, we’re still waiting for the bulk of it. :clock11:

I don’t really care about the time gating thing. It gives the patch a little more longevity. But I also won’t be complaining if they don’t do that again.

They’ll add a sweet new mount to the cash shop to make it up to us.

Yeah, timegating recycled content is certainly… a choice.

Oh thank goodness, I’d love another Brutosaur mount with teleport capabilities similar to a Mage.

I thought the purpose of recycling content was to give players stuff to do while they work on more involved things lol

He was talking about the launch, which was a bit of a flop.

I respect the honesty.

Looks like 11.1.5 has something else but didnt make it and it got canceled for some reason. Yup, they have to do better.

Bad stuffs happen. At least they did something better than WoD’s which has content drought and when they released a patch, they only gave us Selfie. That was laziness.

He’s the game director. He makes the big bucks so the buck stops with him for any and all aspects of the game. He didnt personally make the bugs but he’s still the HMFIC.

Ok, if so, what is he doing about it? If he has the control to do something then he should.
