IoC - Docks or Hanger

hanger is better but you mut have defense against the glaives or they win.

For ally? Docs. If you can defend them, glaives beat the gunship

For ally you should always, and I mean ALWAYS, go doc’s and completely disregard ws and hangar. Hangar is the death sentence for allyand no need to worry about the other two nodes.

The hangar strat is very effective IF you win the mass tussle at the start. The problem is the aftermath should you not win the first fight; Mass “/ragequit” then arguing players typing more than fighting. One of the biggest obstacles in Alliance winning is the lack of teamwork (defending vehicles, workshop, etc). We all jump in our go-buggies and single-file off to the slaughter.

I have been in wins with both strats, so it can be done if you are willing to stick with it and not quit.

Always hangar.

But there are always idiots that bomb run and don’t defend or try kill glaives.

Docks is only viable if literally the entire raid is escorting them and fanning out preventing the glaive killers.

I’ve played as ally to test it.

And I’ve played as Horde to counter it.

Wait, do you mean Alliance reaches the flag at hangar 8 seconds before, or Hangar itself, which includes the large opening directly south of the flag, 8 seconds before?

If you mean the latter, then yes, I suppose that is true, but as the flag is not located there, I do not see how that is relevant, sorry.

That’s too smart for alliance.

“Use your gliders!”
“Your mom’s a glider”
“omfg you’re all trash”
“docks never win”
“Shut up newb, your heals are trash, go deeps next time”
“Why is the siege engine driving in circles?”

last time i played ally in IoC i reached hangar fast enough to go down the hill and drop an aoe slow on the horde team about halfway up the hill.

if i take the fastest route possible from horde base, side gate, glider, rocketboots, etc, i can get up the hill and stop an average ally team about 70 yards out from the flag. keep in mind thats an average team, teams going for the speedrun will often already be setup before i get to the top of the hill.

Played multiple IoCs over the weekend while doing Oribos weeklies, it’s just one thing or another with these Alliance “BG week” pugs

  1. get Hangar, no one kills glaives… “see? we shouldve gone docks” comments appear in the chat, following by random bickering/arguing
  2. get Docks, no one defends glaives… “go hangar next time u noobs” comments appear in the chat, followed by random bickering/arguing

They never seem to figure out/put 2 and 2 together that the common denominator of the losses isn’t any specific base or strat, it’s the players/themselves :joy:

You can win with Hangar or with W/S and Docks as long as you understand what needs to be done to secure the win.

Dreaux’s free tip: Running bombs in the base isn’t one of them.

Yes, but most of our serious PVPers went Horde. So we’re working with what we have.

Don’t queue battlegrounds

What are they doing then?

patting each other on the back about how they only participate in “real” pvp

It’s more that unranked content is outside the realm of awareness rather than something people are proud of for not engaging in. Raiders don’t sit around feeling smug that they don’t do world quests as their main source of content, they aren’t even aware that such people exist.

i’ve met enough “true pvpers” to know they do in fact sit around smug all day.

its only when they start to see the bigger picture of pvp that they lose the qoutes and become a true pvper.

They get to the hangar flag as Horde is still coming up the hill. And it absolutely is relevant. It can be over come but the alliance is basically handed hangar by design (due to whining like I said).

Yeah.

Nah.
