So tired of being declined over and over to high keys (25 and up) so people can pick up a fire mage who does no damage and doesn’t actually use their utility. Hunters with braincells that actually use their utilities to the fullest perform better than most of the “meta” specs that people are so desperate to have in their groups. Between Scatter/intim/Counter shot i stop more casts than anyone in most of my groups and am almost always at the top of the damage meters. It’s exhausting dealing with people’s “meta only” ego’s when those meta specs are comprised of mostly bad players who brick keys.

Nah, hunters are so dumb in majority of keys. Had one brick a ToT cause he thought “lust 1st pack and second last” meant lusting the second to last boss.
Pft. A hunter cost me a 23 rise by a few seconds and another Bricked my TotT by deciding to just go afk mid pull. No ty.
Murakage sort of reflects the biggest problem. I’ve had plenty of people just dip out during a run, but if a Hunter does it then it becomes a reflection of everyone playing the class.
We have better utility than most and our damage is on par with most. I’ve had my airhead moments after running multiple keys, but some of the worst Hunters I’ve run with are just bad players who use them as an alt.
That said I’m just returning to the game and have only done a few 20 runs, but the Hunter Bad stigma is still a thing
I actually used to favour bringing a good hunter along. Then the bad experiences with decent IO hunters messing my keys up just started adding up…
I get that, but someone afking a pull has nothing to do with the class
That said we do have a ton of folks that play Hunters as alts and in the runs I’ve done you can generally tell the difference. But it’s on the lower end. Most folks that main the class and grind harder content generally know what they’re doing.
edit: Actually, if I was running an alt I’d probably not care as much about completing the run either ya know?
I was only half joking. I’m not going to turn down a good hunter because of bad experiences. But I’m definitely wary now. Even higher IO hunters than me with no sign of being an alt play can like absolute trash so it’s impossible to tell.
I play with my son who heals as preservation. 100s of dungeons and almost all bm hunters decide they want to be as far from the healer as possible. Non stop audible sighs or mumbled “how does this dude expect to be healed”.
I have played hunter over the years and i get it but it really is not a stereotype made out of thin air. Plenty of good hunters out there but the bad experience or repetitive instances of not stacking when needed, not using defensives, etc stand out and people lash out and say all.
Why would anyone take a C and D Tier DPS, https://mplus.subcreation.net/ , when there are plenty of better options?
DHs, Rets, Rogues, Monks, Mages, Warlocks, and Moonkins bring just as much DPS but have much better utility.
I just had a key bricked by a mediocre hunter who had no defensives for the Galakrond stonecracker barrage. Don’t tell me to invite them.
hunters can be a liability in high keys because of squishiness
i dont pug very often anymore but one of my friends said im the only hunter they ever take because they trust me, whereas most other hunters are goofy goobers in one way or another
but ya, most mages in pugs are fotm and do barely more than tank damage in my experience. very rarely run into any that pull more dps than me and im no god
