What are the conditions in which a Hunter’s traps will be invisible to other players in pvp? I’ve walked into countless traps that weren’t on the ground when I tripped them, but other times, I can see them. It seems to be if they drop them while I’m there, then I see them, or if they drop it while in camo are they invisible? Thanks very much.
Think of them like…Traps
if you see the hunter placing it, you know where it is.
If you don’t see him placing it your not going to see it. Not much sense in a trap that everyone can see lol.
Lastly If your seeing them after they have been laid, i would assume it is because you are stealth. Idk if rogues still have this, but they used to be able to see and disarm our traps from stealth.
Rogues can’t see/disarm traps any longer. I’m having an argument with a hunter in my guild, he says there isn’t a condition in which traps become invisible, that they are always visible.
My understand if a trap is placed within around 15-20 yards of your character you are able to see it. Any trap should be visible while it is arming (That second when it is on the ground but can’t trigger) But will become invisible if you are outside said radius once it arms. The best way to settle your argument would be to duel and have him launch a trap close to you then one far away from you and keep doing so to discover the exact radius/ conditions.
In my experience traps placed out of combat(might be because of range issues) are invisible.
For example if I’m defending a base and i place traps around the flag, people cant see them and get caught. However if I’m dueling and I place a trap in the middle of the fight, if I missed the trap, people try to walk around to avoid them.
I havent tried launching a trap very far away while I’m dueling, because why should I place a trap 30 yards away from my target in combat anyways.
Edit: I’m not a rogue, so I dont know if I place traps and there is a stealthed rogue around me, if the rogue can see the traps or not. They probably can though.

Traps ARE visible to everyone as they travel through the air, unless the hunter is in camo. Traps ARE visible to everyone for a very brief moment when they are arming on the ground. After they arm, traps ARE NOT visible to enemy players, but still ARE visible to all friendly players, including the hunter who placed the trap.
