All I want to do is know which of my alts have whatever item I’m looking for, but all the addons I can find which do that also insist on unifying all of my bags into one big bag…and that irks me to no end.
I don’t want one big bag! I like having separate bags so I can organize things!
I can’t figure out how to turn off “one big bag” in ArkInventory, and no one has replied to that question which I left on their forum weeks ago.
Any ideas?
Bagnon - think you can still have individual bags if you customize the setting as such.
Altoholic should do what you need.
Elv UI has a setting that lets you open your bags one at a time.
Its a complete UI skin though, with lots of options. Not for everyone.
Elvui is an absolute annoyance as they think “hey, you want these 900 things preskinned!” No, no we don’t. but yeah no, there’s an option to turn that on and off. it’s okay for classic but I turn that sh*t off in retail.
Uh. If you’re installing a UI Compilation (like ElvUI), yeah, the default assumption is that you want everything reskinned. That’s kind of the point of UI compilations. Otherwise just grab MoveAnything.
FWIW, I think it’s pretty common for “one big bag” addons to allow some form of sorting. I don’t remember which addon was doing it, but I distinctly remember some blue/green/red outlines within my big bag that were used for sorting different types of items.
I beg to differ, you want to change the ui, sure but you don’t necessarily want everything to be reskinned by default. Are you saying you want dbm to nag you and turn itself off if you haven’t updated it a month or two into a raiding tier? I know I don’t. the timings are fine, the only issues I have ever seen are some very minor timing issues if you happen to be a tank. most people are not tanks.
altoholic doesn’t touch your bags, but it does tell you who has what and how many if you hover over an item.
Altoholic cones with datastore. You can use datastore with altoholic tur ed off.
ark inventory - Make five bars assign a bag to each bar. Done.
It actually has a lot of power to make organising much better if you take the time to learn it. Gear sets etc.
I thought we were talking within the context of someone who is already downloading UI Compilations.
If you’re looking for something like DBM, obviously you’re not shopping for a UI Overhaul and might not want everything skinned.
I highly recommend the Adibags addon, if it ever stops working I’ll be lost
Adibags will sort all your crap using headings so you can easily find those potions/boe’s/souldbound/gear herbs questitems fishing items whatever it is all neatly sorted into their little spaces

See I’m the opposite; all those little bags give me a minor panic attack.
The big bag makes it easier because if I need to separate things, I layer them, like a cake!
