I work for a living, and I must say it really does feel lame when I get home and only have 14 minutes left to complete the invasion. Invasions should honestly last a few hours longer, or persist until ive completed it. I was at 30% completion on last quest before the air ship disappeared and I was parachuted down into the bay.
I feel like I am missing out on content because I am having to work to pay you to allow me to experience that content I am not getting to completely experience. I am pretty sure I read a similar post back in Legion about invasions not lasting long enough.
I don’t see the harm in such a change. Anyone else wish to share their input?
Taking into account invasions last 6 hours every 12 1/2 hours, and incursions last 7 hours every 12 hours, you might miss a few, but you are not denied to experiencing them.
I do agree, though, that if you are half way through it, there should be some kind of grace period so that you don’t get screwed half-way, but I don’t know hard/easy it would be to code such grace time
Silly Pally your not allowed to have a real life and play this game with any degree of satisfaction that has been the way of WoW since vanilla. But you are right the time gating and limited windows to complete content sure don’t make life better for us the consumer who collectively support their greedy incompetent asses.
I actually suggested a “solution” of sorts in a previous topic that was pretty similar. It wouldn’t be unreasonable to implement an NPC that allows you to experience the previous incursion, so if you missed it by an hour or so, you’d be okay. Obviously, it wouldn’t overlap with the current incursion.
It would be similar to the Bronze dragon flight’s ability to phase and zone you back to a previous time. This would be pretty awesome, to help ease the burden and not feel like you are being rushed to complete current content.
Solution?
Quit your job and move.
You probably won’t be able to afford any entertainment so problem solved.
EDIT - oh hang on. I just got this memo from HQ. Seems they’re going to make an exception for you. Any content that is gated behind a spawn time will now spawn immediately whenever you log in. This isn’t global, it’s just for you personally. Congrats!
I feel like there was a grace period in Legion that you were given after cimpleting the 4 world invasion quests. I was able to finish after that despite the timer having already reached zero.
I came home from work and saw it had almost 2 hours left but I was so beat I couldn’t be bothered, they come around so often it’s not a stresser to miss a few.
Didn’t see this topic up, I have the exact same issue with this, the timings don’t match up with anything else WQ-wise that I’m aware of except maybe Legion invasions which I largely ignored but those took over the whole zone so this is something a little different.
I honestly think the invasion should just last until completed, that way everyone can do it without having to worry if it already happened by the time they get home from school or work.
I hadn’t thought of this, why not just have them back to back to back? Why have a cool down period at all on them? It doesn’t really make a lot of sense other than arbitrarily screwing people over who can’t log in during that specific 7 hours which if you work at all will generally happen.
Incursions are so much fun there should always be one up. Maybe they’ll add Darkshore/Arathi incursions to help fill the gap between Zandalar/Kul Tiras incursions?
They should be up for 24 hours. The timer on Legion invasions made sense since they deactivated all the other WQs in the zone. BfA incursions don’t affect the other WQs, so there is no reason they shouldn’t just be up for the entire WQ reset period.
Honestly this. If it spawns after 8 Friday night I will miss it, Saturdays, and Sundays. I work weekend doubles. Get in at 430 In the morning. I have it down tkk the second my alarm and get to work on time haha. When I get home I right back to bed. And Sunday just too damn tired.
It is absolutely. Ok tkk miss a few here and there.
I’m aware of that, I’m questioning why is it limited to a rotating specific 7 hour window? It just seems unnecessary other than trying to drive log-in numbers up during weird hours.
“Limited completion windows” have been going on since Vanilla, from the AQ Gates all the way up to demon invasions in Legion (including the launch ones). These ones are shorter and on a regular timer, so theoretically, one will eventually be available at a time in the day when any given player is able to complete them. I work days, too, but usually manage to do around 2-3 per week, maybe more depending on when I happen to be logged on during weekends.
But, you know, keep being an absolute ray of sunshine, you verbose vixen, you.
This. If you got into the final scenario-thing in the Legion invasions, you could complete it even after the timer on the WQs had expired, because you were already in. There might have been additional “grace” granted by having the ability to turn in the completed prerequisite quest for a couple minutes when it was in the process of switching back over to normal, too, but I’m not sure.
But yeah, since these ones are just in a different phase of the normal game world so that multiple people from multiple factions can all participate (selling that “faction war” theming), it doesn’t keep going after the timer is done. It would be nice if it did, for a few minutes at least, just in case someone was literally in the middle of it when the timer ticked down to zero.
But either way, another one will be up in 12 hours, and another one will take place 19 hours after that. They’ll cycle around eventually to times that are available to others. Keeping them up until the next one arrives would probably be convenient, but might lead to less concurrent participation (and thus less associated WPvP on War Mode shards), which would be a shame.
