Has anyone else encountered a bug where they are unable to use spells on targets? I'm not sure why this occurs, as it seems random, but I usually get a lag spike before this happens, and then I am not able to use my spells against enemies or allys.
I've just had this happen to me upon zoning into EoA- weirdest thing I've had happen to me.
I was able to attack and use all my abilities just fine prior as I was questing through Aszuna, but as soon as I entered the instance I was unable to do anything but auto-attack. I left the instance and everything seemed to work as normal.

I just had this problem as well, I had to completely leave the game and log back in to get it to start working once again
I had this problem a few seconds ago, sometimes it gets fixed with a simple reload, but othertimes not even reloggin would help
I had this issue in Halls of Containment on Taloc. Couldn't attack at all until he went into phase 2. I reloaded UI twice, nothing. All primary abilities just shouted "Invalid Target"

I have this problem sometimes when Alt-Tabbing out and back in to WoW.
For some reason WoW treats it like you’re still holding down the Alt key so you’re most likely trying to force damaging abilities into your toon instead of the enemy.
Press Alt once quickly to reset it.

This. It's annoying that this bug keeps happening, but I can confirm that this solution worked for me. Thank you.
Just gonna put this out there that this bug is still happening. Very odd.
It is happening to me right now.
Not sure, but as a Shadow Priest, as if their dps weren't hard enough to pull off mediocre numbers with on the damage meters, sometimes the game would sort of, I don't know... Freeze up? In combat. The enemy is right there, but the game it self would allow me to run around etc. just fine, but the game would treat me as if I was silenced and unable to cast spells. Suddenly, almost a minute later, everything is fine now until it decides to act up again...
Happened to me, then i closed the windows explorer process, explorer.exe, and worked, always work, it's pretty much a problem on fullscreen windowed thing, and windows explorer is overlapping the game window.
Happened to me just now, in warfronts.
Happened to me when I was in Uldir. Doing /reload fixed it.
