Intrest Check: Man'ari/anti-Void Lords Guild OR Group?

I’ve wanted playable Man’ari for WELL over a deccade now.

Naturally, I’m very excited that we’re getting them.

With them being playable soon, I’ve been thinking about how I’d like to craft one’s narrative purpose.

Here’s an idea that I’d like to see if anyone wanted to develop with me.

So, essentially, Sargeras creating the Burning Legion stemmed from a fundamental fear of the Void Lords; specifically what the Void Lords’ end game was for all realities. His solution is well known: end everything so they have nothing to corrupt.

Putting it mildly, that’s a pretty radical “solution”.

Despite the horrid stratergy, I do think his fear held merit; and I think others would see the validity in his fear, too. Based off of that, I like the idea of a guild OR RP Group forming that sees the Void Lords as the ultimate threat to all–like Sargeras did/does–but they frankly opt for a less nuts solution.

The core narrative of this group/guild would be that they want the Void Lord problem to still be activly worked on; and they are willing to do pretty much anything to solve/prepare for the issue… bar wiping out entire worlds.

This group OR guild would mostly contain ex-Legion characters–such as man’ari–but would also be open to all sorts–taboo magic wielders or otherwise–as long as they held the same core purpose to heart. I’m thinking it started after Sargeras’ demise–they were one of the many waring factions that Legion turned into, but they ultimatly cut ties with the Legion because they were opting for in-fighting over cause. They come to Azeroth because that planet has proven to be full of warriors and spellcasters of excpetional capability, and because the Void Lords are heading there at some point.

Let me know if anyone is interested or you have any thoughts.

I really like your idea here :ok_hand: Originally I did not plan on creating one despite really liking the idea of them, but your post is making me reconsider. I would definitely be interested, especially if it’s a guild/community since I would love to have a place to hang out with likeminded characters.

If I can garner enough interest to get something–a community, guild, RP group, etc…–going, I was thinking of naming it the “Emerald Reformation”.

Again, the idea is that this faction WAS one of the waring Legion factions that came about after Sargeras’ fall. This faction still sees the coming fight against the Void Lords as THE most paramont threat in existance, but they want to fight WITH the heroes of reality now instead of against them–they are ultimatly pragmatic, seeing warring over the Legion’s holdings as a waste of time.

I would definitely be interested in this. I have already been working on this character in preparation for the next patch. His story is roughly, that he was forced into the legion and converted after Argus. He holds resentment towards Kil’Jaeden and Archimonde for selling out their people, but also towards Velen and the Naaru for, in his own mind, abandoning the majority of the Eredar. He was held under the yoke of Sargeras for thousands of years as a summoner. His helplessness during these events are what have motivated him to improve his power. He is angry for the machinations of higher powers interfering with the will of mortals like himself. Now that Sargeras and his lieutenants are gone, he fights to never allow such subjugation again. This includes subjugation from any of the forces of the cosmos.

Real happy to see the interest being generated.

It’s still early days–we don’t even know exactly HOW the man’ari that become playable do so story-wise, let alone when their entry patch will release–however, I’m pumped, and VERY interested in getting a group of some kind formalized.

If I see a few more expressions here, I’ll start a Discord server and we can go from there. I have LOADS of RP event ideas for this at the moment; just need the people and their passion.

“Several Azerothian years have passed since the Dark Titan was forced into absence.

Without its master, the Burning Legion has become a shadow of its former self. Chaotic infighting has consumed its ranks, robbing it of the fruits Sargeras’ order bore. But worst of all, without someone to keep the Legion to its core purpose, the Void Lords’ grand plan shall ultimately come to pass.

Something needs to change.

The Legion’s former strategy of destroying all that exists to prevent corruption has definitively failed. If the Legion can’t take Azeroth—or any other world—then the plan can’t truly see success. It’s all or nothing.

So why continue to fight them?

ALL needs to be set aside to ensure that the Void Lords’ fail; that includes the past, ego, pride, and hatred. As such, my faction, now known as the Burning Reformation, shall do what needs to be done.

We’ve abandoned the Legion—taken our capital Cruiser from its orbit about Argus and set a course for Xoroth. Once there, we will take all that we need for the grand effort ahead, and then it’s into Azeroth to establish ourselves, gain the inhabitants trust, and show them just why the Dark Titan is right to be scared of what’s to come.

The path ahead will be a tough one, but we will endure.

We have to.

Funny enough; I and a few other Man’ari have formed up a Burning Legion-aligned guild.

Our guild is not intended to fight off the Void, but I can certainly see some folks trying to organize that plotline. I imagine that only select Legion characters might even know what Sargeras’ ultimate design was.

For an organization as large as the Burning Legion, the “Mission” would have to be simplified, especially for the gibbering madness of most demons. Hence all most demons would know is “Conquer, Enslave, and Burn”.

I can definitely see your logic. Perhaps the vast bulk aren’t aware of the Legion’s core cause because they’re treated like cogs in a machine over partners in an endeavour. Then again, the Eredar in particular were/are? quite high-up; and I’m proposing a man’ari-led group. Maybe they did know, maybe they didn’t; not sure either way—no lore for or against, unfortunately. It’d be great to get an answer on that so we all aren’t just playing with gray area.

I’m really looking forward to what’s in store for the Eredar storyline ahead. Personally, I’m banking on the storyline dealing with a specific group of Eredar who have defected from the Burning Legion—that makes the most sense to me. But who knows? It’s exciting, in any case.

Whatever the story is, I’ll adapt the background lore to suite and then go from there. And I’ll probably opt for Legion-defectors over Legion members because it’ll be easier to RP them in cities and the like. That’s easier, by the way, not easy haha.

Good luck with you guild. Hope it goes great.

Our group certainly will use whatever lore Blizz gives us as a veil to sneak our demons about.

and I certainly look forward to the story of loyalist Burning Legion hunting down the traitor Man’ari who have given up the Fel! :stuck_out_tongue:

:point_up_2: This. I love everything I have heard thus far ^^

Edit: That was intended for OP lol If you have a discord going for this, Necromar, I’d love an invite

it’s a WIP. We have a guild of 25 members so far. But Discord is still on the checklist of things to construct for a new guild
