In early dragonflight, it was noted that disc and holy would be the only 2 specs in the entire game with absolutely no access to an interrupt. Two stated reasons for this are:
1: “Having access to an interrupt is not something we view as necessary for all specializations.”
2:“In PvP, Holy and Discipline already provide valuable control to their team and additionally having Silence would provide more control than we’re comfortable with”
Yet in TWW, interrupts have become the ONLY way to put a dangerous mob ability on CD, and we have even seen bosses like Candle King in Darkflame Cleft, which spam-cast potentially group wiping abilities every other cast. As someone who has been playing both priest and monk this patch, the difference in enemy control is absolutely insane. I understand that blizz is concerned about how holy/disc interrupts would affect PvP. But their PvE enemy and encounter design increasingly inches toward making interrupts absolutely mandatory. I can feel the lack of PvE control that I have in every single dungeon, and it can be quite miserable at times.

It is weird that healer priests are excluded from such an integral gameplay mechanic.
Silence should just be put near the top of the shared class tree and shadow should get actual damage talents in place of it (and the plethora of other utility / defensive talent nodes that plague shadows upper tree).

I really dont understand why Holy priest doesnt have a kick, He is in a very bad spot right now.

in terms of pvp yeah I think having the blanket silence + interrupt is too much, especially for a caster. If they wanted to make it a choice node, or make the silence pvp talentable, or lengthen the cd of silence if kick is taken etc etc, something would need to be given in exchange.
The entire priest class is designed around standards that are unacceptable for other classes

I’m going to be against the grain here but I really appreciate not having an interrupt. I enjoy that my job is to focus solely on my party members. If I’m feeling spicy I might throw out a Chastise but really I enjoy not having to deal with enemy nameplates at all. My job is to heal. I like to heal. I want my team to succeed and my capabilities are confined to my action bar and my team members health bars. I ensure their health bars stay full while they deal with whatever they need to deal with.
If I have an interrupt it means the door has been opened to an entire room that I simply don’t want to deal with–Enemy nameplates and enemy action. I really, really prefer to focus on my party members.

I feel like not having an interrupt is a good reason for having overpowered shields. Compensation, right?

So are we labelling silence as a interrupt now?
Let’s add fear and mind control in there then.
You guys got 2 interrupts now stop crying.
Same tbh. I don’t miss my monk’s interrupt much playing priest. Sure some pugs can get rough but IMO PI and Oracle’s shields make up for not having it.
