I recently discovered that Bartender4 was the culprit of choppy gameplay problems, so i’ve uninstalled my trusty addon of…who knows…many years
I tried ElvUI but i HATE it. I can’t get over the ridiculous modern look. I just can’t stand it. And to boot, after 20 minutes of playing with settings, i can’t even find the button for queueing for a battleground. uninstalled.
Can anyone help me out with a solid and simple UI addon that allows me to move my actionbars around? thats really all i want to do. nothing more, nothing less. No gimmicky UI overhauls, silly skins, or dumb text fonts. The standard blizzard stuff is fine…just need to move it around.
Just installed and…uninstalled. lol. Not to be picky here…but you can’t adjust a single setting in shestak without have to reload the entire interface. Setting this up alone is a nightmare for this sole reason…
dont have a problem with bartender - what you probably need to do is to delete your addons and wtf folders, start the game and then reload your addons. I do this after every major patch, and it is recommended by blizzard. I also load my addons manually- don’t like an app updating addons automatically.
EvlUI is INSANELY customizable, but it takes a lot of time to set up. I spent around five hours from a fresh reset for Dragonflight, and even though I know my way around ElvUI I’ve constantly tweaked it over the past few months and it still needs more tweaking.
That is good advice…however bartender download page and google searches are LOADED with others having the same problem as me. I suppose i could try a fresh reinstall (i’ve already done a full interface reset) but im not optimistic given other peoplpe having the same issue en masse.
Yeah, elv is good for some things, absolute trash for other things. Just wait until it disables itself like dbm when it’s out of date randomly, because that’s a thing addons should be allowed to do! /s
(obviously a quick fix in the scripting stops this but still)
I’m on a fresh install, and Bartender is the only addon loaded that causes the game to behave in weird ways. One seemed to be exclusive to Legion raids where my entire UI began to warp (an issue with the talking heads there, perhaps?).
Took a snap of one of the more severe cases that happened a while ago.
I have 93ish hours in setting mine up so far. There are still quite a few things I want to do with the DH profile. I need a custom DH curser, change the font for everything to one that is more suitable, make some bars that fit the theme more, just stuff like that.
I also have to figure out why addonskins keeps locking skada config.
Oh god, do you use different profiles for different classes? I just have two profiles and the only difference is for the built in classbar for the classes that need it like Death Knight for their Runes.
I have 4 main profiles one for each role that different slightly than change some things for each class. Once you get the main profile done its not to bad.
To this day i still use the stock ui with the exception of a few mods that make it more friendly (MoveAnything is nice)
I used elvui way back but it caused me to lose frames in heavy areas…never could figure it out so i parked it. The stock ui gives me no issues no matter where i am.
I dont do much in the game except level alts anyway. No sense for me to spend a ton of time on a ui mod.
