Interesting question

I seem to recall the Emerald Dream being in Legion. So I guess you’ll have to wait for Legion: Classic for that.

The emerald dream IS in vanilla. Not very much of it but it is there.

You seem to be having a conversation with someone else.

I was talking about cut content from vanilla.

The emerald dream zone was very much planned to be in vanilla, wow even had interviews pushing it. But they never finished it and cut it.

Whether it showed up later or not in later expansions has no relevance to what was or wasn’t in vanilla.

Maybe not. But the fact that it wasn’t in vanilla and therefore won’t be in Classic is pretty relevant.

Not sure why having an entire zone not in vanilla also not be in classic is relevant.

My comment was to point out that indeed, there was cut content, after you stated there wasn’t.

To be honest I would rather they just release TBC servers, since most of the cut content went into TBC anyway.

Plus it had other things like making hybrids a bit more desired in raids without as much of the homogenization that happened later on.

I seriously doubt they will put any real money or dev time into Classic beyond basic support. Even if they do, I can’t imagine that they’ll get another whole MMO dev team involved to make content when they have the current/“new” game that they are still making content for. I’d expect a “Classic TBC” at some point if Classic takes off and/or they start having legal issues with private TBC servers, and the same with WotLK, but not much else besides that.

There was a lot of content that was meant to be. Many of the zones where incomplete. Blasted lands especially.

Vanilla is vanilla. Keep it 1.12

arenas!

on a side note, i bet the mere existence of this thread is tilting oh so many no-changers

back from your ban I see

Welcome back! Hope your time off was good to you!

classic is meant to be a small teams project that they can hopefully make money off of without doing a bunch of long term support or development

i doubt we see any new developments unless classics numbers are just huge and the demand for it is obvious

Absolutely. I’m not saying it should be added in with release. Just down the line when server pops stabilize and it’s been a couple years maybe.

I still think it’s far more likely they do tbc. They already said they won’t develop two mmos at once.

Good points.

Also, a good point. I wouldn’t mind playing BC again, as it was.

Considering that in 2 years a very small percentage saw everything ask again later

While I would love to see this happen, I dont think it will as blizz seems to like having the lore always reflect the latest version of big wow. Adding in cut content would either be terrible content because it would be designed to fit the modern lore or they would be creating another source of lore contradictions which I doubt they are willing to do

They shouldn’t be afraid to add new content, planned or not.

However, yes, I would specifically want more 40 man BG’s, wether it’s that planned 40-man Azshara BG or something else.

I’d like to see a wisp race

Just kill more Night Elves.
