They are actually a rather forgiving and peaceful lot. I have gnome friends as a Goblin even! Just stop trying to punt and eat them and their defensive nature won’t kick in. Gnomes are friends, not food or football’s.
You’re forgetting it’s Gnomish technology. Even if they collapsed they would’ve malfunctioned (repeatedly) by now. Given that he’s yet to electrify anyone while handing out cookies, that hasn’t happened and thus, he can’t have collapsed spider legs.
He doesn’t unfold them often. Less chance of them malfunctioning. Face it, how do you think he can mass bake so many cookies in such a short period of time and NOT be half robot.
