Interesting Alpha Changes

More Class Changes and Tier Sets Announced - Midnight Alpha Development Notes for Week 5 - Wowhead News

Significant changes to CDs. Auto attack buff is also a strange direction to push. Odd that BoK is getting buffed by 300%. Uh… and we should have killed JFS while we could because it looks like Blizz is trying to push us to use it AGAIN because they buffed it by 200%.

To be fair, Jadefire Stomp is now just added on to the end of your FoF, and there doesn’t seem to be a “stand on the line” mechanic anymore. There’s also an additional choice node to make it do even more damage to multiple mobs, or to do extra damage to just one mob. If we’re going to have the ability, then it’s good that it’s been added to the “aura.”

True, but I’d rather JFS be outright killed than see LEC and PotTK go. Going passive doesn’t improve JFS. It just made JFS more unnecessary talent bloat to add to the pile but this time it’s for FoF damage instead of just having base FoF be good. At least with LEC and PotTK it’s satisfying to hit full charged and it’s a meaningful button.

Oh, I think I’d rather have LEC and PotTK, too. I’m just pointing out that this iteration of JFS isn’t as problematic as what’s come before.

As I see it, its continued existence is the problem. It leaves the possibility for one of the devs to take a look at it and want to mess with it. Had it been deleted wholesale and turned into a glyph, we probably wouldn’t have to hear about it for at least another xpac or two. It should have been ripped out root and stem in its entirety going into DF, but here we are.

I like jadefire.

It would be a real shame if they removed it imo.

There are some odd changes in the latest build but overall I’m at a point where im happy with windwalker in midnight.

(Plus the new effects it has are just cool)

I’m curious what you like about it. For me, the art put into is the only redeeming quality about it. Everything else is fluff, bloat, and redundancy.

I’m still on the fence. There’s been good changes, but there’s also been bad changes. I’m not sure how I feel about things, and that’ll probably have to be a thing to determine when the dice finally land. However, based on all the changes I’ve seen so far, it feels like Blizz’s plan is they have half a plan/idea of what they’re doing but also they’re not designing WW to be good.

It just looks really cool and turns fists into a decently powerful attack.

They removed the standing on it part so yeah, just a pretty effect giving free damage :stuck_out_tongue:

(Plus have you seen the clip of the new effects for windwalkers? It blends in so nicely now that every attack is green)

I still mourn the loss of dragon punch and xuen but I’ve been replicating the midnight talents in live as best I can and it still feels good to play. So im hoping the new talents also make it better

That’s the thing. Blizz could just turn JFS into a glyph for FoF or RSK or both. Hell, they could make two glyphs and use the SL animation too. The damage could go back into FoF or some other FoF buffing talent and we’ll have essentially saved a talent point or two in doing so while also looking cool.

Xuen I’m less broken up about. However, I do find it strange that Blizz did not put WDP on a choice node with Slicing Winds. That way they could buff WDP, and it’d still work with the double Heart of the Jade Serpent from Conduit of the Celestials while also letting people not have to play Slicing Winds.
