why is my battle Rez Insta casting as a ret paladin? This is killing me because it has a 10 minute cooldown. Please help.
I’m not sure I understand. I’m pretty sure it has a short cast time for Ret.
It’s like it has been assigned a key bind so for instance, when I press 2 it automatically cast the spell off of cool down
Might be a good place to start. Is it keybound?
I had it bound to alt2, then moved it to a nonbind slot on the bar. Still the problem persists where it gets auto assigned a keybind usually 1 or 2 …so if i push 2 it also cast intercession. I know this is confusing, but I have tried restoring everything to default settings, disabled all add-ons etc…can’t seem to figure out why this is happening.
I have experienced a similar issue on my ret pally where it seems to be on cooldown and I did not use it.
It’s pretty rough. I’m getting a lot of heat on high-level keys since I can’t rez anybody. 
perhaps try manually setting it to a specific key-bind so you donʻt accidentally use it when not needed.
The fact that it goes into cooldown when it doesn’t actually rez someone is silly IMO
Weird question, but are you sure you are casting it? Is there someone else in the group who has a battle rez and used it? Like in a key or raid, the cooldown for battle rez is shared with everyone who can battle rez.
that’s a good point! I did not realize it was shared across party members. Is there a way to track that to see if somebody else used it or how many you have left? if somebody else uses a Rez, will it automatically set my 10 minute cool down off?
When I am on my pally, I have Intercession on my bar and it will have a little 2 on the bottom right i think. thats how many battle rezzes the group has. I’m not sure how to tell if someone else used it, I usually run with guildies for keys and raid and we say in voice chat for the battle rezzes
If someone else in the party uses up the battle rezzes it should show as a cooldown on your bars as well.
Battle rezzes in M+ and Raid is a shared pool. You start with 1 and you gain a charge every 10 mins up to 5.
The charge will be shown on the spell icon similar to other spells that have charges.
Similarly, if you have 0 charges it will instead show the cooldown.

Thank you that makes more sense to me now. One more quick question …in the scenario where it shows we have a rez available… and I’m being told to use it. But I have a 10 minute cool down …my response should be….?
If you have a rez available, it shouldn’t be on cool down. But if you are being told to use it, while there is a cooldown I usually just say “its on cooldown”
