Can anyone tell me if there is an “Interact with Target” option in the Classic keybindings?
I use this a lot in current WoW because I have RSI issues with my right hand and it allows me to share the load by being able to have a key on the left side of the keyboard that I can use to click on things like material nodes, etc. I can’t recall seeing it during my brief look at Classic on the stress test.
If it doesn’t exist, I am sure an addon can be made for it. would not be terribly hard.
Classic will use a 7.x client, so it should be there.
About the only way to talk to a quest giver in highly populated contested territory without starting a brawl. Have a good story about that from a friend of mine. Moonfire!
So was it called “Interact with Target” or did it have a different name? As I mentioned, I did look briefly for it but I couldn’t see it on the list. I thought perhaps they called it something else back then.
I honestly don’t know if it existed in vanilla, but by somewhere in TBC it was something I’d keybound. What I remember is that it wasn’t keybound by default, and I chose a letter that made sense to me that I didn’t use otherwise.
Reasons had to do with jerk players: rogues who would flag and stealth on a quest giver, as well as dealing with any questgiver that was swarmed by players especially when the first larger mounts became popular (netherdrakes, for example). It was so much easier to just /tar {NPC} and then hit the keybind to interact.
Had to check, yes it is called “Interact with Target”.
Don’t forget that you can type /tar with the first three or four letters of the NPCs name to target them.
I’m not so much concerned with NPCS as things like ore and herb notes, fishing, etc. It allows me to mitigate the use of the mouse which is an issue for me. I can move the mouse and then I had the Interact with Target on my Tilda key so I can use that. It sounds like a small thing but if you are farming mats for example, or fishing, it really helps in the long run.
If you are thinking in terms of /interact macro. It is much different then it used to be to make it harder to use with bots.
No, Im specifically asking about the keybind “Interact with Target” that I can use now. I want to know if it was (and will be) available in Classic.
Oh well I cannot see why not both games are using the same engine and that is not really game altering at all.
not sure if in the game - but you can look at a gaming keyboard (I use logitech g110) - you can map the "special G keys to the left to be a mouse click - I do this for easy fishing
Yes, you can bind ‘interact on mouseover’ and ‘interact with target’ under “targetting” in the keybind settings
